John King
Dr. Archer Avary CSA
My name is John King. I believe Archer Avary who was in Cobb's Legion is a cousin of mine. My great, grandmother Phoebe Flanigan lived with Dr. Avary in 1880. Her father was Henry H. Flanigan. Henry had two brothers who served with the CSA during the War Between the States as did Archer. I think that Henry's father married an Avary. I have an old photo of Archer Avary in his confederate uniform that was taken in 1926. I also have a statement he made and signed to say this was his original confederate uniform. My grandmother made notations on the back of the photo. I have a tintype of someone who is possibly an Avary but unidentified. I don't have any contact with my grandmother's relatives, but I knew them as a child. My great grandmother was born a Flanigan and became a Stanford. She was born in 1870 and did reside with A. Avary for a time. It is all confusing at this time since I have no one to verify these things. I want to make contact with any living relatives of the Avary's, Collins, Flanigans or Stanfords. My email is jking3@tampabay.rr.com

James Whitehead
Myrta Lockett Avary
Greetings
My name is Jay Whitehead. Myrta Lockett Avary is my 2nd great grand aunt. I just visited her grave in Oakland Cem. I know that she was married to James Corbin Avary II. I was wondering if you might know where their child is buried. Not sure if it is in Decatur Cem or not. I don't think this child lived past the age of 2. I believe this tragedy might have been a cause of their separation and divorce. I would be thankful for any information you might have. If you are looking for info on the Locketts I have tons to share! Thank you
JAY

Glenda Ragan
Hislop's
I really don't have a clue. I think most of the cremations go to East Lawn.

Mary, I have created and transferred several memorials to you of your Avary family members buried in the Avary family plot in Decatur Cemetery. I have also linked them together as well as posted pictures of their monuments.
