William Vanderbilt Picture
I am removing your picture. According to another contributor, my William is not the former Governor of Rhode Island.

HI, Your request for a picture for the following has gone unnoticed, you may want to delete the request then request it again. Or perhaps message the memorial owner to ask about the picture.

Kathleen, In Feb. 2014 I left a message on this board pointing out that the photo of a Daniel McCoy you posted to Daniel McCoy's (Find A Grave #57403553) memorial page is not a photo of the Daniel McCoy described on that page. The photo you posted is actually one of my g-grandfather Daniel W. McCoy (Find A Grave # 22090525). Perhaps you should remove the photo because you really are doing a disservice to those who are searching that Daniel McCoy line (Find A Grave #57403553). And after the photo has been lifted several times and entered into family histories it will be difficult to correct the mistake.

Joan Foster
RE: Carolee ornduff Bjork
Hi Kathleen,
Not where she is located in the cemetery, though she is in that same cemetery. She already has a memorial on Find A Grave, with a photograph of her stone posted by someone else. Memorial # 94243600. She is buried with her husband. When I took the pictures I was looking only for an Ornduff, and the large Ornduff monuments were close enough together and prominent enough to warrant a group view. I wouldn't have paid any attention to Bjprk. The cemetery is very small, however, and they cannot be very far apart on that hillside. If you'd like to know, I can go back and look for her and see whether it is reasonable to try to get a view showing her location relative to the Ornduff group.

Glad you found them! Good luck with your research. I think I remember I was fulfilling a photo request for one of those. Then saw all the others close by. ~ Angela

Daniel McCoy
Hi Kathleen, this is the same letter I wrote to Angela concerning the photo of Daniel McCoy that you shared on her find a grave post of his vital's and family.

Just wanted to let you know that the photo of Daniel McCoy is not that of Daniel son of William & Cordelia.

It is of Daniel W. McCoy s/o John & Phebe Roberts McCoy. He was born 06 Aug 1841 Rainsboro, Highland County, Ohio and died 01 May 1902 De Witt, Clinton County, Iowa.

Captain Daniel W. McCoy commanded the 175th Ohio at the Battle of Franklin, TN. Originally he served in Co I, 24th OVI.
Daniel W. McCoy served four years during the Civil War.

This Daniel W. McCoy married twice, 1st Eva V. Vallete (divorced) and 2nd Margaret Ann O'Brien,

Here is the number where the photo is posted to the wrong Daniel.
Find A Grave Memorial# 57403553
This photo is being passed around as the wrong Daniel who was a brother to my 3rd Great Grandmother.

The Civil War started April 12, 1861 and ended in Spring, 1865. In 1861 William and Cordelia's son Daniel was 71 years old. The man in the photo looks to be in his 20's. When the war started Daniel W. McCoy pictured was 20 years old. I have another photo of him when he was older.

We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. Kathleen, the photo you posted on Find A Grave #57403553 is not the Daniel McCoy described in the memorial. The Daniel McCoy memorialized would have been 71 years old in 1861, the year the Civil War began, but the Daniel McCoy you posted the photo of was only 22 years old when his photo was made in 1864. The Daniel McCoy you posted a photo of belongs to this Find A Grave Memorial #22090525.

I have posted RS Tellock and her husband JL. I also added Levi and Jessie Tellock and Albert and Angeline Tellock. All are probably related to RS as this is a small local cemetery.

John Seward (1790-1873) #18582001
We are working on a biographical sketch for this John Seward, as he was a soldier in the war of 1812. We recently procured his military records from National Archives. Our genealogical society put out a War of 1812 flagstand on his grave last year.

The portrait photo you've posted on his Findagrave memorial is lovely, but I think it cannot be THIS John Seward; the man in the photo appears to be about 40--but the soldier John Seward would have been 40 in 1830, when portrait photography did not exist. It's still possible there is a photo of him somewhere, but it would have been taken much later in life.

John and Phebe had a son, John Seward, but he died in the Civil War, so it probably isn't him, either. There IS a John Seward who was a grandson of the 1790 John; he was a son of Samuel Seward and his second wife, Marcia Jane Drake. This John Seward died in 1912 in Shelby Co., IN, Findagrave memorial #94476752. If your photo is marked "John Seward," this man seems a much more likely candidate. Do you have any further insight into this mystery? You can reply to my direct email,

You are very kind. Much appreciated. I would be glad to have a picture of Elizabeth Boone Grqnt, if one existed. However, she wasn't famous like her brother and he only had a painting done of him. If there was one done of her, it is long lost. Thanks again.

Picture for Elizabeth Boone Grant
Miss Watson, would you mind removing the picture of Elizabeth Boone Gtant. This memorial is for Daniel Boone's sister for which photography was not available that that time period. This might be a relative of hers, but I have no idea who she is. I would love to know her relationship to the Grant family or Boone family, but peoploe are already misconstuing the idenity of this picture.
Thank you so kindl
Ray Jackson

Ezra Kinne
I have done extensive work on the Orville Cemetery. There is no marker in that cemetery for Ezra Kinne. I believe he is most likely buried there but without a marker or the marker is gone. Since he died shortly after his wife, it is logical that he is there next to her. If I can be of any other help to you please let me kknow. Good luck in your search. Susan
