I wanted to thank you for the photo, however it appears to be a copy of the one I took at the flea market in Hillsville, VA where Mr. Cather's marker was for sale. I was so hoping someone would check the cemetery to assure me he & Mrs. Cather have a tombstone to mark their graves. My conscience has bothered me since I walked away from those markers & had I known it would be so easy to find the graves I would have made the purchase & returned the plaques to the family members. Thank you for trying. Judy

RE: Joseph E. Chapman & Sussana Grate
Did you ever have a chance to put your photos of Joseph and Susan on find a grave? Perhaps the more important question is -- did I tell you how when you asked?

Had a few minutes this morning. You don't have to be responsible for a site to add a picture. Just click on the "add a photo" icon and go from there. It will ask you what kind and you indicate it is a portrait. Your tree is different, of course, and I don't know what program you use.
I have the Chapman family back three more generations from Joseph. I also misspoke before because I think Joseph's third wife, Nettie, outlived him since she is not buried with him. She may have remarried which is probably why I can't find a death record for her. Do you have the bio for Joseph from the Portage History book? My grandmother was always close to her Chapman relatives so the family has intrigued me. My dad took me to the Edinburg cemetery to see their stones many years ago. I've been back several times since.I'd love to know what you have and see the photos. Thanks for sharing.

I knew there was more. I've taken the Guions back to George who came to Ohio from Massachusetts in the early 1800s. I haven't been able to get back from him so I haven't found that connection that you mentioned. Anyway, I'll try to get back to you by Wednesday.

The only picture I have of any of the Chapmans is Alice Rebecca and it is not a very good one. It is from her obit and so is grainy. It would be great to have a picture of Joseph. I caught this on my way to bed and will look at it again in a few days. The next two days are really busy so I won't have time. And I have to review the steps myself. Joseph seems to have had bad luck with his wives, since he had three of them and they all died before he did (I think) I need to double check that.

RE: Robert Huston
I added the dates for Robert and Elizabeth Huston's tombstones at the Marshall Cemetery. Thanks for providing them. I don't live near Clark County. However, you may want to request a photo. Maybe someone can go there and get one for you.

John Grate - Achor Cemetery
Mary Ann,

I saw your message to Amanda Spence. She appears to be inactive on this website. I have not been able to get corrections to her entries unless I go through administration. This has gone on for well over a year. She entered the listings through a book that she has for the cemetery. The photo attached to John's site is just a general overview of the cemetery and is on all the listings. Many of the older graves have headstones that are illegible and the cemetery is not well cared for. I personally have had difficulty going through it. It's possible someone may be able to find his headstone if you put in a photo request, but don't know if anyone is actively photographing it.

Debbie
