Possible transfer?
Hi Kyle,

Sorry to bother you again. Would you please consider transferring my family members to me? They're all in the same row at Ebenezer Cemetery in Tennessee. I already manage my parents, which are on the same row. These are the ones I'd like to manage if it's okay with you:

Grandmother: Memorial# 100611590
Grandfather: Memorial# 100611487
Cousin: Memorial# 100605515
Cousin: Memorial# 100606104
Uncle: Memorial# 100605394

Thanks so much,

Transfer Grave Memorial# 100606413
Hi Kyle,

Could you please transfer Grave Memorial# 100606413 to me? It's my dad.

My mother and father share the same grave stone and right now, I have the left of it and you have the right.

RE: Griffin Haynes
Thanks for the transfer. I guess that makes us some kind of cousins. That's the only picture I have of any of the Haynes. My grandmother, his daughter had this large "bubble" glass picture of her dad hanging in her living room. When she died my dad got it. Now I have it hanging in our living room. I know it was made before 1933 but that's all I know.

Do you do genealogy? I have some info on Griffin and Mary Christine but not a lot going back any farther.

Thanks again!

transfer memorial
Would you be willing to transfer memorial #114012596, Griffin Haynes to me? He was my great grandfather. My dad thought the world of him when he was a little boy.

Thanks for all the work you have done on find-a-grave! Mary Jo

That would be great! I do not know where they are buried (most probably Humphreys Co.) Will you add to their gravesite memorial?

You posted photos on John William Enoch Wheelers memorial at Docia Smith Cemetery, Humphreys Co., TN
Who are the people in the group picture? I assume the 2 in the other photo are JWE Wheeler and his wife Mary Ann Elizabeth Weir (Wear).

I was viewing your photos of George Thomas Hatcher and Minnie Docia Wheeler. Do you have IDs?

William Oscar Smith inquiry
Kyle, if you are a Smith descendant of William Oscar Smith, can you please tell me if Oscar Smith possibly had a first marriage that lasted a short while? I found an old picture of my grandmother, when a young teen, with a nice looking gentleman who looks to be a few years older than she. We never knew she had a previous marriage, but on the back of the picture it lists the name as Oscar Smith with her, and the handwritten caption stated it was her first husband. She was born in 1888.

Could you write me at my email address if you are a relative and if you have any old pictures which could be compared to the one we have. This is a family mystery to us but the picture of your William Oscar Smith seems to resemble the early picture of the Oscar Smith in the portrait I have. I have sought to find this mysterious person, (to our family), for several years since inheriting the very old photo. My grandmother was from the Carroll and Benton Co., Tennessee area, near Mansfield, Tn.

Thanks for any help or for answering my inquiry,
Jo Ann Kelly

Elizabeth Blackwell

Elizabeth Blackwell is listed as the nearest relative to a Will Parham, on his WWI registration card. I'm trying to figure out how she is related to this Will Parham. Do you recall any Parhams in her family tree? I don't think it would be his mother's side (Davenport). It would be Will's father's side.

Thanks for your time.

My maternal g.grandparents were Rush Franklin Brown and Nancy Ann Wallace Brown. They were from McEwen, TN.
My g. grandmother moved to Texas in the early 1920s and is buried in Terrell, Tx. I have yet to find any information or burial place for my g. grandfather, Rush Brown. I think he was born 8-1846 and died in TN. Have you ever heard this name before?

RE: Rebecca Bateman
Thanks, Kyle, for responding so quickly.
To answer your question, Kathy Greer e-mailed me several pictures of her family. Her g.g. grandfather was James Alford Curtis. She said the couple pictured were Joshua and Martha Elizabeth Hatcher Curtis, my g.g. grandparents. Question: Why is Joshua Curtis now referred to as Albert Joshua vs. Joshua L.?
Also, my grandfather always referred to his uncle, Joshua Burl, as "Boss"and his uncle William "Bill" Curtis as "Big Boot". He said his mother, Rebecca "Vina", was full blood Cherokee.
I have recently posted pictures of all my family members on Find A Grave. Most are buried in Kemp, Guthrie or Pyle Prairie Cemeteries, TX. My dad was Putman D. Bateman.
If I ever find a picture of my g. grandmother, Rebecca Vina, I will e-mail you a copy.

Info request
Are you related to the Curtis's or Hatcher's?
My great grandmother was Rebecca Lavina Curtis Bateman.
For years I have been trying to find a photo of this person.
Do you know if any exists?
Thank you.

RE: Florence Smith Pegram

Very small world isn't it? Thanks for replying it is nice to reconnect with family even if it is a few generations apart. Yes my great great grandmother Florence's first husband was John Hiram Patrick--my grandmother was one of John and Florence's children but then he died and she remarried. Love the pictures which I showed my mother who is the only child of Elijah and Dorthy (Patrick) Norfleet--the Norfleets are from Houston County and are buried at Cedar Hill. If you have other photos of Florence or John Hiram Patrick please let me know it would great to show my mother.

Hi Kyle,

Are you related to the Florence? This happens to be my great grandmother. My grandmother was Dorthy I Patrick/Norfleet. I tried finding her grave site but was unsuccessful. Thank you for posting the pictures I remember seeing them at my grandmother's home.

RE: Humphreys County Obituaries
Thanks, Kyle -

I will check with the library about their holdings. I'm particularly interested in the oldest newspapers for articles as well as obituaries.
All of the Curtis settlers in Humphreys County and their descendants are distant relatives, so I have a more or less equal interest in all of obituaries/bios. If you have a few Curtis obits you can send me with no more exertion than a few mouse clicks, I will appreciate the favor. Let me know if I can do something in return.
