RE: Humphreys County Obituaries
Thanks, Kyle -

I will check with the library about their holdings. I'm particularly interested in the oldest newspapers for articles as well as obituaries.
All of the Curtis settlers in Humphreys County and their descendants are distant relatives, so I have a more or less equal interest in all of obituaries/bios. If you have a few Curtis obits you can send me with no more exertion than a few mouse clicks, I will appreciate the favor. Let me know if I can do something in return.
Al

Family
I really don't know a lot about the family except what Wayne told me. He spoke of your grandfathers family a lot. Berthie was 17 when Nealy was born I know she had a daughter almost same time as he was born he spoke of playing with Willa Bee a lot. He never spoke much of his parents. Soon as I find other pictures I will fill you in on what I do know of the others.

No he didn't really speak of them at all. That is why I am trying to find out info on them now. I was told that Louisa was Indian but no one seem to know what kind of Indian. Do you know or were you ever told.

RE: Pruett Family
Nealy is Carl's dad. But all your uncles and aunts knew him as Wayne. Nealy name is listed as Nealy J. Pruett on a census in 1920. We were told long ago it is was Alfred Conealius but then Uncle Arthur was a jokester. My oldest son is named for Neal and my father Neal Edwin, other son is Kenneth Wayne. Nealy moved here in early 40s to get better work. Ended up at a auto factory. Retired in 1977. He loved when we take him home to see his family especially Ms. Etter she would fret over him just tickled me cause he was the baby of family.

I will gather what I have so far on the family. My two sons know very little of the family. I want them to pass down to their children family history. With your help maybe we can Kyle.
Thank you, Dorothy

Family update
I am sorry to hear of his passing. I remember his well. Took us out and about town when we was first married. Are any of his brothers or sisters living yet? We last seen your great grandma in 1989 or 1990. She was a sweet darling lady I loved her right off. I will be searching for the few pictures of the family that I have and send to you. Nealy your great Uncle passed in 1989. Catherine his wife passed in 2003 and their daughter Shirley passed away in Jan. 2012.

RE: Willie Pruett
Willie lived in Fulton Tenn. right on border. We went to see him and family in mid 70s. We never really stay in touched with him. But we did go see you grandmother when we were in Tenn. who is your dad or mom? Carl is now 76 and has some memory problems. His sister Shirley passed away a couple years ago. I have some pictures I will be posting of everyone but your grandma she was in Clarksville when I took a pic of all her brothers and sisters together at Willies. house.

I live about two miles from Quincy Cemetery and while I don't recall seeing a marker for her, I will certainly be glad to look again next time I go out there...probably in the next week or two. I'll let you know if I have any luck.
