im taking ewing was georginas married name cos there was a william ewing there with her and there was a clara v. ewing cloninger..there 2 but i think there was a misprint on her death date cos it shows on her find a grave page she died in 1921 but her stone says 1915 and there was another clara g. ewing there but her death date was also different on her find a grave page than her stone

New Edit System
don't know if you already know about this, so passing it on..
How do I process memorial edits I have received?
From your 'Profile' page, select the 'Edits' tab. The tab will display the number of edits you currently have pending. If the number is more than 25, the number will be displayed in red.

'Pending Edits I need to review' will be displayed. From here, you can review the pending edits submitted to you by other members. You will see three columns. The first will be the name of the memorial which you can click on to open the memorial in a new window. The second will show you how the memorial looks currently. And the third will show you the prosed look after the edit. All edits are by default as 'Accept'. Do not click 'Process selected edits' at the bottom of the page until you are ready to approve all the edits marked 'Accept'.

Accepting the edit will update the memorial to show what is in the 'Edit' column.

Ignoring the edit will allow you to hold the memorial while you research the proposed edit.

Declining the edit will not process the update for the memorial. If you decline the edit, you must select the reason from the dropdown menu as well as leave an optional short note.

Once you have selected one of the three options for each of the edits on the page, click 'Process selected edits'. The system will begin updating the memorials with the selected updates. Wait for the page to complete before going on to the next task. [Top]

RE: Duplicate pictures
If there is already a pic and it's a good quality one, I won't add mine... if my pic is better for whatever reason, I will add it..

I did find one of yours that I added a close photo of the photo of the person on the marker...I left it because you hadn't posted one of that..

there is no way to link the children other than putting the parent # into the parent box from the child's memorial page...

you could do html.. there are directions on how to do that.. but that is a pain in the rear !!!

RE: Duplicate pictures
I talked to fellow graver about this and came up with the way that I upload the pics it's possible I (and others) may inadvertently fulfill photo requests...she looked through your memorials and could not find any memorials where this has happened ?? if you will send me a sac from the memorial page/s in question I will delete the photo/s I have added...

I go through the pics and upload them if existing page has no pic....then with the pics that are left, (that had no page to upload to) I build a spreadsheet and upload that, then go back and add the pics....

as I said previously, sometimes the site is glitchy and the pics don't show. sometimes it adds multiple pics.. it's entirely possibly to upload a pic when there is an already existing one...it's not against the rules.... really isn't any different than uploading 5 views of a marker when one would suffice...especially when it makes it so a portrait pic can't be uploaded..

RE: Duplicate pictures
I am not offended in any way if you posted a pic also..let me know which ones they are and I will go back and delete them...

sometimes the site is glitchy and pics don't show up at all..so it looks like there isn't an existing pic... sometimes it will post 2-3 copies of the same pic...

I don't pay any attention to the photo requests..
sometimes I will and do add another pic to an existing memorial that already has a pic if mine is clearer, shows the whole marker, etc...there are many pics that have been posted that are such poor quality they should never have been posted in the first place...or taken from so far away that they can't be read...I always try to keep in mind that we are taking pics of the marker, not the area around it...I believe that people want to not only see the markers, but be able to read them also...

that all being said, let me know which ones they are and I will go back and delete the ones I added.

there is a whole area on the discussion forums about pics, the quality of them, etc, etc.. .. where you can read all about how people feel about the pictures that get posted......

as to why people are requesting pics for memorials that already have pics, I'm gonna take a guess that the site was glitchy and the existing pic wasn't showing, so they hit the photo request button which happens quite often, or more than likely, someone's feeling have been hurt because I posted a pic to a memorial that they had already posted a pic to...

Pat...Many, many thanks for sending this photo of Lewman's grave marker. I couldn't have imagined it so lovely as this. Was there a marker for Benjamin or Joseph? Again, thank you. Dianne
