My parents took me to visit an old cemetary near Bluffton, SC that dated back to the 1700's. Even at that age I was fascinated and intrigued by the old headstones and the history they reflected.

Genealogy research into my family background is a hobby. My father's family is from Horry County, SC and Columbus County, NC (Surnames Cox, Faircloth, Anderson, Wright, Foley and others). My mother's family is from Texas, predominately Cherokee County(surnames Kerr, Carlton, Jones, Newman, Norton and others). Find A Grave entries have been very helpful verifying birth and death dates for several of my more distantly located relatives.
