LeMay and LaChance

I'm piecing the LeMay family members together. Have some linked, will see how many I can find.

Also, it appears William LeMay and Mary LaChance are siblings.

RE: Burgess memorial
I will attach the photo to the other memorials. Do you have any additional information on the Burgess family? The cemetery is putting together a booklet for the 2015 sesquicentennial and we also do historical tours. Tom

Re: Merlin & Jane Knight
Thanks for yur recent messages regarding Merlin and Jane Knight. I have found two sources which suggest Jane is the daughter of Merlin & Caroline Knight: 1-the 1850 census for Franklin Twp., Mi. enumerates Jane as a 3-year old living with her (recently) widowed mother and other known siblings, and 2-the Gravestone Records of Lenawee County, Vol. II, compiled by Harriet Cole Bowen in 1933 as a Michigan DAR GRC report lists Jane buried in the Franklin Twp. Cemetery with her father. Merlin's father, Benj. Knight is a direct ancestor and I have other, albeit limited, information on that line if you're interested. Thanks, again. Steve Ring

RE: Merlin Knight
The legibility of the engraving would be improved by re-taking the photo at a later time in the afternoon. I will try to do it in the next week or two when I return to Michigan. Watch for it to be re-posted.

Hello from Michigan. I really appreciate your taking the photos of my husband's great aunt and uncle. It is comforting to know they have a headstone.

August Wise photo and corrections
Thank you very much for the photo you added of Gr grandfather August Wise. I have since updated his information to include notes on possible reasons why his grave marker would state his DOD as 1951 when all other records say 1961. Its possible it is 1951, however naturalization records, washington death records and information left by his daughter say 1961. As do his census records. I really appreciate your help, and the time you took to not only add the picture but provide a correction you believed to be faulty.

Thanks very much, CSM! I appreciate your time and effort.

Would you mind transferring ownership to me so that I can update and link them? I can do it through the Edit feature but wanted to ask before I send all the requests.

Harriet Burgess(1852 - 1925)
I got your request to photograph Ms. Burgess's stone but after looking at 2 different sets of cemetery records I do not believe that she is buried in the Montrose Cemetery. There are other Burgess's listed in the records but none of them are listed buried in the Original section (old). If you can come up with any other info let me know and I will give another look see. I looked on to see if I could find any extra info and the only thing coming up for a Harriet Burgess with the above dates and location is the Find A Grave listing. You might want to contact Jeri and see how/where she came by the info she used to post the memorial. Have a lovely Sunday - Karen

Wow! That must be the fastest fulfillment of a Find A Grave request ever! Thanks so much for the great photos and noting the discrepancy in birth year. I'll need to recheck my source.

Thanks again for your help.

Best wishes,

I found his DOB in the Social Security Death Index, here...

If someone's death was reported to them, it will be listed in the SSDI. However, not ALL deaths are reported.

Both of these are buried in 5, 81, 3. Looks like the person who took the pics did all that can be done. Both are on same marker.
