RE: William Philipsborn grave
Alter Israelitischer Friedhof or Old Jewish Cemetery would be correct.

Pictures

There you go.
1 & 2
Choose the one you prefer. If the resolution is not good enough I'll upload it again.
If you do choose one picture for the book, then credit goes to S. Gessner, Leipzig. I will keep my eyes open for the name when I visit the New Jewish Cemetery.

All the best

RE: More information re. burials
Oh, I have to apoplogize. The 'judeninsachsen'-link had the name Philippssohn not Philipsborn listed. It seems on the way from Find a Grave to the other site I had already forgotten the name.

IF I'm really good I'll go back to the Old Jewish cemetery on Monday... if not it will be Tuesday.

Until next week,
Susann

RE: More information re. burials

I have no further information about the stones I post. And I do my 'research' only online or by walking cemeteries... I'm not good with people... living people that is.

Some links:
http://judeninsachsen.de/juedische-geschichte/biografien
There are four people listed here with the same last name. Three of them exclude themself from being his parents... the Rabbi is a posibility of being his father or grandfather.

I don't think you'll get far with the address of the "Amt für Stadtgrün und Gewässer" they are mostly responsible for mainetance.

On the other hand this website: http://www.irg-leipzig.de/
Has more contact information for the jewish comunity in Leipzig, even an email address.
Mail address
Israelitische Religionsgemeinde
Löhrstr. 10
04105 Leipzig

As for the picture... Let's be honest. The photo is not the best. In two weeks I have the time to go back to the cemetery. If my foot isn't hurting anymore I could try and get you a better picture. I would also be willing to walk the New Jewish Cemetery when the weather is a bit better and look for the other Philipsborns

Best regards
Susann
