|Carlene Steel||The surname Derr|
I just thanked John Quiring for a photo & noticed your name & had to check my Family Tree index as I thought I recognized your surname. By golly, I did. Of course, I don't know if that is your husband's name or yours, but I do have 8 Derr(s) in my tree. Two of them married Long(s) which is one of my major branches in my tree, my mother being a Long.
The earliest Derr I have is Johannes Derr (Darr) b. 1720, Germany - d. 1785 in Sharpsburg, Washington, MD. The 2 that married Longs were Ezra, b. 1821 MD - d. 1889 MD, & Jacob, b. 1782 MD - d. 1884 MD. They married 1st cousins 3x & 5x removed of mine.
I would be interested to know if you might be related to any of them.

|S Ross||RE: The Salmon family|
You are very welcome! Let me know if there are any other surnames in Aurora you would like me to look for ~ I get there often, and know the cemetery is nowhere near complete. I'd be happy to do it.

Thank you for your nice note. I swung by Baylis Cemetery to see if there was an address to send donations to, but there wasn't. I have a friend who has a list of the managers of each cemetery in Pike county and he is supposed to send me the person's name and address. I think it is great you have offered to send a donation! Please let me know if you need any more photos...

Thanks for replying to my request for the photo of Olive Butz' gravestone. I have since learned that Charles Butz is buried adjacent to her. I will create the memorial and photo request for him also.

|Sally Sparkman||Floral Hills|
I had it happen that I was searching for a couple of graves in Floral Hills one day and a very nice man who had given me the location information in the office realized after I went driving out into the cemetery that he had given me old information on one of the grave sites. He got in his car and found me, and was able to take me to the right place.
What I learned from him that day was that when the cemetery was first created some of the deceased were buried in "temporary" locations, to be later relocated, and that had been the case with the person I was looking for.
The cemetery and funeral home have changed hands a few times, and that may have contributed to some of the confusion with record-keeping being re-vamped over time.
I hope this is helpful.

If you were to call the Mt Wollaston Cemetery office directly at 617-376-1295 they are usually good at providing Section plot and grave number locations like for Sally Harris etc. I'll see what I can do locating them.

|Josh Ramirez||RE: Thank you so much!|
No problem, I know when I first started I had to do all the work to find my family and add them on here. I belive I was researching a fire in Tucson, Az which killed Harol Steinfield, I found it interesting and it ended up leading me to the Zeckendorfs. Just request whomever you want transferred and I will, I only ask tht you do the same if ever requested.

Melissa, when you posted the photos, I was reminded of a time past when a young teen-ager by the name of Melissa Dere from Long Island NY had asked for senior citizens to write to her with some of our life experiences. I corresponded with her and today I looked in my photo albums untill I came across a photo of her. She was young miss Teenage New York. I had to see for my self that the names are similar but different.I eas going to send you a copy of her photo and card but did not have an E-Mail address for you.Thanks again for the photos. BOB.

Melissa, thanks for the photos you posted on Bernice Olauson's memorial.My computer went to the happy hunting ground and I had to get a new one and for a senior citizen like me that was a challenge,I finally got all of the sign-ins done,and am back in business.Thanks again. I knew that I would not be that way any time soon. From here,Florida,to the home of my sis in Ballard, it is 3500+miles.
