Margaret Green
Memorial #134197723
On your memorial post for Hannah Lipscomb Green you quote what is written on her tombstone. In the quote you say "formerly wife of Abraham Green and mother of Eliza and Louvisa Jefferies". This much information on a tombstone is exceptional, and I would like to see the actual stone.

Are you planning to post a photograph of this tombstone at some later date? Also, was she buried near a second "Lipscomb" husband, or was "Lipscomb" her maiden name?

Thanks for any help you can provide,
Margaret Green

Ambrose Ray
Hello, I am an ancestor of Ambrose Ray, from Cross Keys, Union Co. SC. My 4th great grandmother, was one of his daughters. Her name is Sarah Ray Powers. She was b. 1789 Cross Keys,Union Co, SC. She was married in 1810 in Union Co by the Justice of the Peace there, by the name of Songbird. She married Bradly Powers b. 1750 Virginia and they moved to Buncombe Co NC, near the Black Mountain area. They had 5 children. Sarah died in 1865, and her husband died in 1842. I have names and listings for all their children. I also have a listing for another daughter of Ambrose and Elizabeth Holcombe Ray, by the name of Judith Ray. I am not sure of Judith married but she was born 1790, and died July 3 1860. I was wondering if you had this information and could these children be linked to their parents?

Nancy Smith Kendrick
Hey cousin! I replied to your email. Where did you find information on Nancy Smith Kendrick? Have you viewed any church records for Skull Shoals? I'm thinking that is my next venture but I am not sure if it will be in the Gaffney or Union library. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

I was reading through some of your earlier posts and I am curious....what is your relation to the Garners? Frank Garner is my great great grandfather. I have a lot of information on the Garners and am currently trying to research the Kendricks and Wilkins line.

RE: Stacy Byars & wife
It's my guess that Mr. Crocker may have been married before Lucille and had children with them. And Lucille was probably married longest to Stacy, too. Since Stacy and Lucille had no children, Lucille probably wanted to be buried in the cemetery with her 1st husband and parents. Just my guess.

I have added the pictures. I want to thank you again.
Also, I did not realize that Stacy's wife, Lucille, remarried after his death.
So.... that is why I could not locate her death information, too.
With Great Appreciation,
Fran Bundy

John Green Lowry & Zulia Pacolet Vassey
Hi Again Denny,
Here are a few additions and changes you might want to make to John & Zulia's memorial.

1. John Green Lowry's birthdate is 6 Nov 1857 per his death certificate.
2. You may want to add that he was the son of Philip Sandifer Lowry and Ellender M Smith Lowry. This would help people doing Smith genealogy.
3. Zulia's birthdate is 14 Feb 1865 Union SC. Her death date is 17 Sep 1960 Spartanburg, SC.
4. Mary Ann Lowry Webber was the daughter of Philip Sandifer Lowry and Ellender M Smith. She was the sister of John Green Lowry.
5. Here is a list of all their children:
Malcolm Eugene Lowry (18 Jul 1884 - 14 Nov 1973)
Phillip Sandifer Lowry (1 Jan 1884 - 13 Feb 1988)
Ellen Geneva Lowry (1 May 1890 - 17 Jun 1989)
Nannie Olive Lowry (26 Sep 1895 - Mar 1982)
Bessie Lola Lowry
Clarence William Lowry (18 Jul 1897 - Mar 1981)
Nettie Mae Lowry (27 May 1901)
Marshall Smith Lowry (18 Mar 1903)
James Leon Lowry (31 May 1905)
Judson Fifield Lowry (17 May 1909 - Sep 1974)

I'm sorry I have been so slow in responding to your last email. I took a bad fall and have been seeing a lot of doctors and many, many dentist appts. since February. I hope this info helps you.

On the older obituaries we have to go to the local library and pull them from the newspapers and scan them in. I am afraid they aren't on line at this time.

Gary B. Sanders
RE: Irvin Sanders
I have seen other sources that claim the parents of Irvin Sanders were John Sanders and Permelia "Milly" White or that his father was Solomon Sanders. Most sources say he married Lucinda Barnett and then a Nancy Griffin ( oviously, a different person from the Nancy Griffin who married John Wesley Sanders).

If John Wesley Sanders and the older Nancy Griffin were the parents of Irvin, then he was probably a twin to Simpson Sanders who may have been born in 1815. Simpson was the administrator of the estate of the older Nancy. Any other information you can provide would be appreciated.

Memorials this old are normally non transferable because there would be literally 1000's of direct and linked descendants.
In fairness, please read Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer.
I will add more info, bios, links etc on request and always do so promptly. Looking much forward to working with you on this memorial

Eliza Ann & Sarah Ray
Note that both Eliza & Sarah DOB's are inscribed on their headstones, thus used in their memorials. I do not have supporting documentation to dispute otherwise at this time. I have seen a +/- 10 year discrepancy in other headstone vs. documentation in other cases though, especially in these time frames. Until I can obtain disputing documentation to the contrary, the headstone inscriptions must prevail at this point in time. Thank you for your inquiry.

Best Regards and Happy Graving!

Stacy Franklin Byars
Dennis, Thanks so much for the obituary of Stacy. I do think that Lucille will be buried at Rehobeth, too. Her parents are, as well. I have added them to findagrave and linked them. Funny the Hughes paperwork, they have Stacy's dob and dod, but no dod for Lucille.. She may not have a tombstone is my guess. Hope she does. And thanks again for everything!
