C.S.Irish
The gravestone in Oak Grove Cemetery in Becker County, Minnesota identified as C.S.Irish could be David Smith Irish (D.S. Irish).

David served in the Indiana infantry in the Civil War in Company G. He was born 4 Apr 1832, died 16 Nov 1903.

He was married (1) Caroline Anstett and (2) Mary Louise Deats.

During my search, there was a square cement plot marker with the last name inscribed on it at the foot of the family plot, flush with the ground. I'm wondering if they included that as a marker.

Do you happen to have any more information about this person since the memorial has no first name or birth/death dates? I just want to make sure I'm looking for the right person.

Thanks!
Brian

This is what i know about Ethel. Her maiden name was McDonald. She married Herbert Carlson and died in 1986. She may be buried nean her husband. The headstone might read Rachel Ethel.
Hope this added info helps

RE: Oscar Melbye
Hello Karin.

Thanks so much for the offer but the Melbyes are not relations; I simply fell down the "rabbit hole" of editing and they were a tertiary branch.

I would suggest offering the transfer to "Renae Burgess Linn (#47012298)". She just added a photo of Oscar to his memorial yesterday so she might be a relative.(??)

Thanks and take care!
Amy B.

RE: PLH Ancestors you have posted
Hello, Karin...I was wondering if there is any significance to the PLH ancestors you have posted. I am helping a friend research her family. She is related to several of the people on that list. But we haven't been able to connect the other names as of yet. Wondered if you could help by explaining why you grouped them together. Thanks!
