RE: Growing up in Kansas
I was born and grew up in Manhattan. While growing up, my family also spent a lot of time at Council Grove Lake. I moved to Memphis in 1979 for a job, then met my husband. So, I have been in Memphis (actually Collierville) for many years - but Kansas holds a place in my heart. I visit my sister who still lives in Manhattan at least once a year.

Elma Lasswell memorials
Thank you for contacting me regarding the duplicate memorials for Elma Lasswell. Since the memorial that I manage was created by someone else in 2010, I have contacted the creator of the first memorial which was created in 2007. I am asking him how he would like to proceed. The second memorial does have much of her family information (she was a sister of my grandmother), so I am hoping that he will decide to delete his memorial but I will wait to hear from him. Again, I appreciate your contacting me.

Thank you for taking the time to take the pic. People like you help people me that are trying to put together our family's. The Knostman family came to the USA in 1836. William was 6 years old at the time when he came with 3 brothers and 1 sister with mother and father. They had a farm in Indiana, but his father died when he was 14. When they were older the brothers went to Ohio to learn a trade. He learned to be a clothier and moved to Kentucky and married an started his family. they then moved to Manhattan Kansas where he became a major retailer. 1 of his daughters ( Emma ) became my Great Grand mother.
I always like to tell a little story to help the people like understand some of the people that you take pic of.

Thanks
Walt Heflin

Hurley Graves
I don't know if I am out of any FAD guidelines, but there are many Hurley graves at the Cummings Cemetery located on Hiway 43/76 near Tiff City, Missouri.

I don't think we are related through the Dolph Hurley. His wife was my blood relative :)

Thanks for your reply. I was searching for the name Hurley instead of Rolen on findagrave. I am not related to Armenda. It appears from the note in the bio field that she is a sister to my great-granduncle, Joseph Dolphus "Dolph" Hurley. Do you know when and where where her parents died and are buried?

I do not recognize the name Armenda R. Hurley. Do you have a findagrave memorial number?

Crowther duplicates in Sunset, Manhattan
Yes it is a duplicate. I requested that mine be deleted. I come across these from time to time for this cemetery. I put a note to the effect that it is a duplicate in the bio. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

No, I don't have any contact in Galena. I wrote to the Columbus Genealogy Library. They might have some information, but I don't know. I think you can go online and google them.

It was my pleasure! I also added the record for Elizabeth Schley; I don't know if she is your relative.

Myrtle Sanders
The contributor of Clint linked her with him. But I am going to write to the genealogy library to see what they have on her. His draft registration in 1917 states he had a wife and two children at the time. I'll let you know what I find out, but they won't be in until next Tuesday, so won't know anything until then. The 1940 census in Clint's bio say he was a farmer and he was married to Myrtle. Are you sure this is the correct Clint?

I have added a photo of Don Zoeller's headstone for you. He is buried in St.Bernard's Cemetery in Wamego, Kansas, with his wife Evelyn Fiegener Zoeller. Her memorial is #149626338 if you would like to add the link. Was Don a relative? He was my brother-in-law and is greatly missed.
