I do clean the stones when necessary, but Willamette National has a really good crew of landscapers that trims them weekly. Have a great weekend

I appreciated that at the Wamego Cemetery they cut back the peonies once they have bloomed. I actually re-took some photos where I could see more information on the stone.
St. George Cemetery is fun, as it is very eclectic. People are buried all over, and everything gets put on and around the graves. It is also beautiful in the evening, especially toward sunset. I'm at the point where I'm looking for markers I've missed from the post 1920's.

Maybe we'll run into each other! We live in St. George and I go to that cemetery when running errands in Wamego.

|E Werner||Katherine "Katie" Bitman|
Yes, Katherine is a first cousin 3 times removed according to Ancestry.com. Her father Valentine Bittmann and my gret-great grandfather John Bittmann were brothers. She wrote my grandmother in 1958 after my grandfather died, which I now own. She also corresponded with another cousin Elizabeth Bittmann (18669-1970), who also never married and lived to be a 100. We used to see this cousin Elizabeth frequently when I was growing up. I don't know where she is buried. She died in Los Angeles, but I saw somewhere that her body was shipped to Kansas, where she grew up.
Please note that Katherine spelled her first name with an "a" in the second syllable and her last name with two "n"'s. So it is Katharine Bittmann. There was confusion with the last name--some dropped off the 2nd "n" in the surname, while others kept it.
