That will be fine with me.my grandpa is a Vietnam war veteran and I've asked him where and when he got the hat,but he says he doesn't know where and when he got it but the hat came with a memorial card that said Clarence l. Hickey on it and I looked up the name and it brought be here.I am 100% positive that it is the exact same hat that he's wearing.

See the memorial for Patience and take a look at the notes in her memorial section. Whoever put that memorial in was quite painstaking in what they did. According to them there are two dates listed, one of 1882 and one of 1898. You can send them an SAC but I'm sure they're going to want sources. This is definitely the right Patience McCleary, I'm convinced of that. As far as Joseph, I would send them what you've got on him as well. I have noticed there were two Joseph McClearys of about the same age in Indiana who show up in the census records, it looks like the one who was the husband of Patience died in 1912 but there is another one who died in 1918.

I believe you are right, it seems as if she is the daughter of Joseph and Patience. There are a few false trails (the CDI lists her birthplace as MI not IN but that is easily proved wrong by multiple census entries) but I am satisfied she is the person you are looking for. I am still hunting for her husband but I did find one of her sons buried with her at Forest Lawn and linked him. I also linked her to Joseph and Patience. Let me know if I have made any errors.

Hi, If we are related to Don it is pretty distant. I have been creating memorials for the men and women who have been in the service of the United States. I think they should be honored and remebered.

Hi Laurie Ann - I added a few memorials for Hickey in Cedar Grove. Would you like transfers? Please let me know. I have been looking for your Eli (1870-1924) and Mildred. Question: There are two graves marked only with crosses between Eli (1839-1930) and Clarissa. Might these be yours?

It took several tries along with trips to the library to find his marker! There are quite a few of these in the cemetery that are no longer readable. However, I used the St Joseph County cemetery Inscriptions book to locate exactly where it was. It was described as being an iron cross and this was the only one in the location specified. So I concluded that this had to be his cross.

I walk Cedar Grove Cemetery on my lunch hour everyday and will be happy to take the photos of Eli and Mildred's stones. I just need you to provide me with some idea of their location in Cedar Grove.
