Thank you for taking the picture of his marker and those around his. I was able to identify his wife's marker and several of his children. That was very thoughtful of you!

RE: Susan C. Sosebee Thurmond
Chris, My husband and I made a trip to what, according to Job's land grants, would have been his plantation site. Going by the land grants and a current map of the area, I'm very sure we found the plantation site. It was an awesome experience! I have learned not to be shy, so I knocked on some doors, found our way up a long driveway and talked to the lady living on the site at that time. I got some beautiful pictures. There is much more I can tell you but there isn't enough space here. If you will send me your e-mail address I can go into more detail.
My e-mail address is islark@att.net. Let me hear from you.

Chris,
Susan was my g-g-grandfather's sister. Do you have any information on her and her children?
From Elisha Thurmonds memorial I see that all the children were not hers. Thanks much.

Hi Chris,

It's great to hear from another cousin. I'm glad you claimed my photo requests.

On another line, I am descended from Job's son, Thomas through his son William Wade Sosebee. I would really like to correspond with you about our mutual ancestors. Please drop me an e-mail at islark@att.net.

Thanks so much,
Ila Sosebee Lark

They are not showing up as claimed on my end. Why don't you go ahead and upload your photos since you already have them?

RE: Starr Photos- Nacoochee Cemetery
Chris- Thank you so much for going back to Nacoochee Cemetery. I have added the additional memorials and placed photo requests. I did run across a real mystery- Henry Worth Rhodes, Jr also has a memorial with a marker photograph at Old Suwanee Cemetery, Suwanee, Gwinnett Co., GA. I have added a note to that effect on his memorial page.

Starr Photos- Nacoochee Cemetery
Chris- Thanks again for the photos. In looking at the photo of the entire plot I noticed that there were 4 markers you did not identify (including the largest one). Do you know who else is buried there? I'm guessing there are more Starrs?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for the photos of the gravestones of my Starr ancestors.
I appreciate it.
May I have your permission to use them on my ancestry.com family tree?

Terry Echols
RE: Echols
Hey:

Thanks for all the images and the info. I do have one question. Who is Elise Danielle Echols? Who was she buried around? I don't have her name in my tree so I don't know who she belongs to.

Thanks,
Terry

RE: Echols
Hi Chris:

Thanks so much for the pictures, some more I can cross off my list.

You're talking about Howard Harrison Echols right? If yes, what is his wife's full name? Headstone states Margaret M but that's all I can find out. And I would appreciate any children names that had.

Also, so I know I got all the pictures you uploaded, could you send me a list of name you added a photo to?

And any other information on Echols that you or your wife has would also be greatly appreciated. I have an Ancestry.com tree if you or your wife has one we can share our trees. Some of the Echols people are proving very difficult to find/trace or attach to the correct family.

RE: Polly Bostwick Mariner
Hi again, Chris, It's really funny; after I last emailed you, I researched Mt. Airy a bit, and was surprised to see the founding of it attributed to MC Wilcox. This was Milton Wilcox, nephew of Asa and Polly Mariner (Milton was the son of Asa's sister, Sarah Mariner Wilcox. Milton was in the 104th Ohio Voluntary Infantry under Asa, who was the regiment's first Lt. Colonel). Asa originally went to that area to help Milton with his resort, the Mount Airy Hotel. Very interesting . . .

RE: Polly Bostwick Mariner
Chris, Thank you so much for looking. I really don't have any other information, except there may be a possibility that she was buried under the name "Mrs A S Mariner". I don't think it's likely, but that IS how she was listed on the 1880 US Mortality Schedule. I think it's quite possible that there is no surviving headstone. Asa Mariner and his family (wife Polly and daughter Carrie) were only in the northern GA area a couple of years before Polly died in 1879. Daughter Carrie married the following year, and she (along with husband and children) are all buried in Bethlehem Cemetery --- thanks so much for those pictures! Polly's husband Asa relocated to Tennessee soon afterward.

Thank you again for searching for Polly's grave marker, and thanks for the photos of all the others you found. We really appreciate it!

William Berry
Hi Chris, and thanks again. Yes, he was an official with the railroad at the time of his death. I have added a bit of background on his memorial, thanks to your photo of his gravestone and your question, which jogged my memory! You are wonderful!

Gratefully,

Chris,

I can't thank you enough for the photos of the Berry graves. I certainly didn't expect you to get the pics of Carrie and William's children, but I can't tell you how thrilled I am. You do wonderful work, and I know we all appreciate it. Thank you!!

Thank you for your efforts. He's probably buried without a grave marker like some of my other relatives from a century or so back. ~ Carol
