John and Anna Carfield

Thanks for the updated photo. I'm going to leave both on the memorial.

My mother, Claudia Clausen Herring, took the original and I am sentimental about it.

Again thanks for the beautiful updated photo.

RE: Fathauer memorials at Lakeside Cemetery
Hello Dorie. Thank you so much for making the updates! I think there was a glitch in my submission that resulted in me suggesting to delete the marriage link. I tried to submit the parents, and it gave me a message that the spouse link was already in progress, so I deleted that, and then the parents links went through. Sometimes when I submit multiple edit suggestions for the same memorial, either I or the computer program gets confused! I am very distantly related, so no need to send me obituaries, but thank you for the offer. I appreciate your work in honoring each individual, and making sure they are represented and remembered. *Janice

RE: William Whitnell Browder photo
I removed the photo I had posted for William since your version did not have a shadow. Thanks for posting the one you had.
I think we have a misunderstanding as far as my adding a duplicate of a gravestone photo that you have posted. I also don't typically add pictures to memorials that already have them unless they are difficult to read/illegible. When I contacted you previously about photographing that particular cemetery section I offered to stop at the row I had completed but you replied to go ahead and continue and eventually we would overlap. I completed photographing the section in early November and now as I look to add them I am finding several that you have recently posted so we both must have photographed the remainder of that section close to the same week and we now have overlapped our canvassed rows and we both have photos of several of the same stones. On the occasion that I find the one I have has less obstructions I have posted it but have notified you so you could determine which photo(s) you preferred to keep on the memorial. My intention is to provide a family relative/ancestor a photo that reveals clearly as much of the stone as possible as that is what I would like to have to add to my genealogy file. I am sorry if you feel like I have sent a lot, it is merely due to LUCK with sun angle and timing of the fall clean-up that occasionally resulted in a clearer version of some of the stones in our unintentional overlapped rows.
Keep up your good work of getting the cemetery photographed and added. It will be a wonderful asset and accomplishment. Sincerely, Judi

RE: Meaker/Johnson
As for source: I found Louise Johnson in the collection ["Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths, 1916-1947," database, FamilySearch ( : accessed 22 November 2015), Louise Johnson, 22 Apr 1931; Public Board of Health, Archives, Springfield; FHL microfilm 1,892,959.] (The same collection is also at if that is also available to you.)
The abstract of the record lists Louise Johnson with birth date and place, death date and place, parent names as well as their birthplaces, and burial date and place-(entered as "Libertyville, Cook, Illinois")
Additionally, Louise is found on the 1930 census listed as daughter of Erick T. & Irma M. Johnson, Libertyville, IL.
The Meaker and Johnson plots are next to, maybe even shared, and perhaps that is how the Meaker name got on Louise's cemetery record.

Donald L. McNeil photo update
Hi Dorie,
I just added a newer photo for Donald L. McNeil -Find A Grave Memorial# 123140296- which was taken after the annual floral clean-up and, by luck, a more favorable sun angle. Just a mention in case you want to delete. -Judi

Helen Morse Casey marker photo
Hi Dorie,
I finished photographing the rest of the west section at Lakeside Cemetery and I am working on adding them to F.A.G. You already have one posted for Helen #93782874 but I went ahead a posted an additional since it seems a bit brighter. Which do you prefer to remain? Thanks, Judi

Marion Oeser - Duplicate?
There are no other people buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with the name of Marion Oeser except the one I posted. There is a Marion Oeser in virtual cemetery but, that one does not count. I believe that according to Find A Grave rules, the people in virtual cemeteries should be deleted when a person posts the same person in a real cemetery where they are actually buried. You need to contact the other person and ask them to delete their memorial. I hope this clarifies your concern.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I try not to make duplicate records of people interred in the same cemetery.

Katherine Wright Headstone
Thank you for your email. Yes, please delete your picture of Katherine Wright headstone and her mothers(#106970461). I don't mind if the headstone is better than mind but in this case the two pictures are very close.

Lakeside Cemetery
Hi Dorie,
I noticed you are adding a lot of photos and memorials for gravestones at Lakeside Cemetery, in Libertyville, WONDERFUL!!! Just to let you know, back in April I photographed all of the stones in the first 13 or so rows (counting west to east) in the far west section of the cemetery. (The west road into the cemetery enters heading north northeast, corrects to straight north, then sharp curves to the east. If standing at the sharp curve and facing north that is about where I ended photographing the rows--that point and to the west are the rows I photographed.) I have now entered all of those photos on F.A.G.
As you may have experienced, a photo request sometimes turns into a project. Upon finding neighboring stones had not yet been entered, I went row to row in that area until my camera battery gave out. I have since taken a scattering of additional photos (extras taken when hunting for possible parents of my earlier memorials) and I am noticing that several of my newer photos seem to be duplicates of your work, so, I am writing to let you know of what part is done so you may continue with your planned attack. I am happy to assist if you want to assign me some rows or happy to let you enjoy working on this cemetery at your own pace and plan. Sincerely, and with appreciation for all of your work, Judi

RE: Roy Anderson
I don't know how Roy came to be in Illinois. Maybe the obituary will shed light. Perhaps his wife Alfia had relatives there. I just saw that her mother Bertha Ahlstrom's obituary is also listed in the index at the library. I don't know what her maiden name was.

Ben Burroughs
RE: Samuel Pope b. 1841 Wells Maine
If it is not too much trouble I would greatly appreciate it. I saw that you had some information about him on the MyHeritage site and it looked to be him, but I could not see all of the information that you had. It would be great if you could send that to me.

The Samuel Pope that I am looking for was born around 1800-1801 in Wells, Maine. I think his mother was named "Mary". He died in Conwayborough, S.C. in 1863.
