Peter Mills Sr.
Have you been able to find out more information on Peter Mills Sr. I am a descendent of his, I am working on a family tree. I am trying to make it as correct as possible. I know after a certain you have to guess when the birthday is and date of death too because records aren't always fully intact. I also thought it was nice that you included that he is Dutch.

RE: Wesleyan Cemetery
Talked to a friend and she ask for the information and sent it to her contact at Find A Grave. Within two days the title page was changed (corrected). Now, just get people to read the title page! This would help. I did not want the memorials transferred to me, just to let people know that the cemetery no longer exists, and they would stop requesting photos. Andrew

Hi, thanks for the note. No, if you click on the photo it will zoom in to full resolution. Click on it twice and you can see the middle initial is an F. This is one reason I always post maximum resolution photos. I never understood why people went to the trouble to post photos that were so low res that you couldn't read them. Have a great day.

Wesleyan Cemetery
Dick & Karen
A picture of the entrance of the cemetery (Wesleyan Cemetery) would not be possible as the cemetery no longer exists. What I have learned is that when everything was removed from the cemetery, the land was graded and buildings were erected on the site, been trying to have Find-A-Grave transfer Wesleyan transferred to me so I could change the bio page or have them correct it, as it is not correct. It states that all burials (anywhere from 2,000 to 20,000 burials were removed to Memorial Park). But only about 800 were moved to Memorial Park; all military burials were moved to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, some were claimed by family, the rest. . .? Who Knows?

Those are 2 seperate sites that were never together. RHC# 47 Esek Pierce Yard and RHC #48 Case Family Lot AKA Case, Kelton and Lawton Lot.
I'll look into your request, not sure we have those markers.

On Catharine's page they are listed as children, and on Powel Jr's they are listed as siblings. Is that the source of the confusion? I do not see any children listed for Powel and Sarah. Please let me know if I've misunderstood your inquiry. Thank you!

Hi Karen,

I have transferred Grace over to you. There are about 10 or 11 other Gards buried there, let me know if you want any or all of them transferred to you. Have a nice evening!

Clarissa May Linn
Hi Karen,
I read with great interest what you wrote for John Murray. My grandmother was Clarissa May Linn. What you wrote about her grandparents raising her after her mother died isn't quite true. She was living with her grandparents by the age of 4. I don't know the reason why; but I do know that Lola Cheesman told me she was envied by her siblings because she had never had to work as hard as they had and had gotten so much schooling. I do have several pictures of her with her cousins.

RE: Current
Hello, no I'm not able to correct the name but when I added the photo I sent a correction/suggestion to the creator of the memorial. So hopefully she will be correcting that soon. Glad I was able to find your request for you.

RE: Deborah Nudd Towle
Thank you for the information about Deborah. I've updated her memorial and linked her with 2 of her children. Do you know where her husband and daughters might be buried? I will add them if that information is available.

Thank you again,

RE: pierce
Hi Karen,
The official name is the Esek Pierce Yard, but on find-a-grave it is listed as the Captain Mial Pierce Cemetery. Curious enough, Esek spells his name Easic Peirce on his marker, which I have brought up to the Cemetery Commission.
It is located on Hornbine Road on private property, on a large pasture farm. It is about 1,000 feet from the street. To get there, I follow a path across a cow pasture, through a cedar grove, then across a hay field. I will add some pictures of it's setting; it's quite a gem. It has 4 walls in good shape and yellow daffodils cover the site in the Spring. The markers are in decent shape and will be cleaned next season.
I published a Rehoboth Historic Cemetery Map in 2012, which locates all the sites. Because this one is on private property, no street number is given. I check the site 3x a season and the workers are there another 3x also. If you'd like a copy of the map, simply send me your address and I send one out, free of charge. Best Wishes.

RE: Capt. Mial Pierce
The markers at this site have not been cleaned and they are hard to read.
There is a record of interred for all the Rehoboth cemeteries. It was compiled by Bob Trim in the late 50's and early 60's. There are some errors. It can be found in the Trim Room at the Blanding Library in Rehoboth. I also have a record compiled by Calef and Carter, in the 1930's. They don't list all the sites, but it's good to cross check when possible.
I don't know where you live, but I am the Cemetery Superintendent for the Town Cemetery Commission. I can access all sites, if you're interested in a visit.
I use D/2 Biological Growth Inhibitor to clean the markers. You simply spray the marker and then leave it to work over 6 months time. You can also brush clean after application, which quickens the results. Unfortunately, the etching is so shallow and faint on many of the markers, that they still don't photo well.

RE: Capt. Mial Pierce
Hi, Capt. Mial is in a private cemetery, about 1,000 feet from the road. The cemetery is named for him and Esek Pierce. Visits require a guide- I'm the guide. Will be visiting it to check maintenance and will be happy to photo all the markers. I started cleaning markers this season, but haven't gotten to this one yet. It is a lovely site, full of daffodils in the Spring. The markers need to cleaned, but I'll get the best shot I can.

She's next to Robert and Mary, and when I opened their pages I found out that Joseph was one of their children--so Mabel is next to her grandparents...

Find A Grave notified me that they are going to delete the virtual cemetery that I had made to keep the Placer deaths, unknown burials in. I just wanted you to know what was happening. You don't have to do anything, they said the ones that are there would just be listed as unknown. I made the cemetery with the name Placer County Burials with the hopes of it at least showing they died here and most likely are interned in Placer County somewhere.

There is not picture to take at this time. His burial is not known. If we find out by researching records we will notify you of our findings. Right now 4 historians are doing research of all the cemeteries and records in Placer County. We hope by placing William at this site will help to flag him as needing research. We are all donating our time and are working everyday on these. Please bear with us.

Greenmount Cemetery - Baltimore
Greenmount is now charging volunteers for plot information. When they recognized my voice yesterday, they said that after the first call with a request for up to two plot numbers, all future requests will need to be put in writing with a check included. So from this point forward, any request without a plot will most likely be ignored by local volunteers. If you could call and get this info for your requests, it will help get your requests filled.

RE: Schneider
There seems to be some confusion. I posted the photos for your Schneider but sent a note that they are not buried in the Lutheran cemetery near Otis but in the Methodist cemetery. It appears that there are already memorials and photos for them in the Methodist cemetery.

RE: William Childs
He appears in the 1880 census in the Castroville area born Maryland, justice of the peace. No spouse nor children listed. So...his death is after the census in 1880. There are several in Castroville, many in Salinas a few miles away, also Watsonville (santa Cruz Co) has many cemeteries and is very close to CAstroville. The phone number for the Castroville Cem is 831-633-5186...try them!

I'll be glad to help but so many options..from the Santa Cruz area, to the Gilroy area, to King City, Big Sur plus the larger towns of Salinas and Monterey. I'll do some reasearch to see if I can find him.. assume you've checked the census'. please feel free to contact me at magill1242 at gmail dot com.
