RE: Helen Bowen
YOU're welcome. I discovered it when I was trying to locate St.Columba Cemetery and was hoping that death certificates of any I could find in New Columbus might say St.Columba.
I have two family member buried at St. Columba but can not find it at Find A Grave.

RE: John Arthur Hunter
Hello Cheryl,
Thank you so much. I appreciate the transfer. John Hunter is my maternal great-grandfather. His is the first funeral I remember attending as a small child.
I recently found and joined Find-a-Grave and have found several relatives, mostly because so many remained in Edgecombe County.

Thank you again,
Wynette

Wrong cemetery ~
Hello Cheryl. I was researching some Williams burials and happened across your recent post of Claude Williams at Richmond National Cemetery. You posted him in the wrong cemetery; the vet's gravesite lookup says he's buried at City Point National Cemetery and a memorial already exists for Claude, see it HERE. So you might want to delete your duplicate post, or at least move it to City Point. No offense, just trying to be helpful.

RE: Florence Blount
Thanks for the reply. Florence was my grandmother's sister and their family visited in Tennessee in the summers. I was hoping to find a picture of Florence since I have most all of the family in photos except for Florence. Thanks for putting them on Findagrave.

You are very welcome! I am trying to take pictures of the stones on the left side of the mausoleum as well. There are eight drawers total. I will post them as soon as I am successful.

Edward Lyle Walker
Cheryl:

Recently came across your Find a Grave entry for Edward Lyle Walker. Did you really find the grave or was this a long distance hook up? I currently live in Texas but have searched for him (with no success) on my New York visits. Where is he located with respect to his father, Rufus?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi! I think we have a duplicated record. I see you added a Linda Rita Ritter recently. I just visited the cemetery today and photographed her headstone. The name didn't come up when I searched because you have the name backwards. Ordinarily I would delete my duplication, but in this instance my info is more accurate and I have a photo....would you mind deleting yours, please.

It is so sad to see that church and cemetery become what it is today for lack of care. Would be a good project for some local scout troops.

RE: Kittie Wheeler
Cheryl,
Did not mean to ruin anyone's day with my edit request. I have been working in and around Barnardsville most of the year, in an attempt to photograph all of the markers in every cemetery. Every time I complete a cemetery, there are a dozen or sometimes more memorials, that have just been dropped in from cyberspace. Then the burden falls on my shoulders to get the research done on all of the deceased that have been thrown into the wrong cemetery. After I spend a week researching and finding the correct cemetery that these folks should have been listed in, I'm stuck with getting the photos for these people that have markers in the real cemetery, not the one that they have been plopped into. Then I am the guy that has to send out all of these edit requests in the hope, that people will follow through and take them out. Most of the time, no matter how nicely I ask them, it causes a lot of trouble for me, when I'm only trying to see the records straight and get the cemeteries in good order. It's a lot easier for someone to wreck a cemetery than it is for someone to fix it back the way that it should be. I should not have to rant and rave like this, but people just don't have a clue what I'm up against here. I care about the records of those that came before us, but most of the contributors on here don't. They just want to control something, take an ego trip or run up their tally. I'm sorry you were upset, but I should be the one moaning here. If people don't know where someone is buried, they should leave it to someone who does know. Enough said and I meant no offense to you; Sorry.

I saw where the tombstone was transferred, and wrote to let you know I had deleted my posting. Then I read the note you left me. I was happy to delete my posting, The main thing to remember, we post each person, so they will be remembered, and not be forgotten, Honoring their lives here on Earth. I thank people like, Frances and Patty, taking photo's of their tombstones, letting people see where their loved ones are buried.
I thank you for your work on Find A Grave.
Have a Blessed day,
Love in Christ,
Lorraine
