|Freda ||RE: Rosa and Sam Also Cassius, and Mary Burkett.|
Samuel S. Truitt 1871-1925
Rosa G. Burkett Truitt 1871-1925
Their only son...
Cassius Clay Truitt 1894-1918 ( he died in the war )
And her mother ( rosa was the younger sister of Terzy)
Mary E. isom Burkett
All are in the Truitt plot in little old north Dexter cemetery, Texas.
We not only went to the gravesite with my husbands mother last year, we cleaned it up, and placed flowers.
The family mystery is where Terzy is buried.
Now....Florence is my husbands grandmother.
She and her children, Bobby, Betty and Joyce , and new hubby Lester Dobbs moved to Biggs California.
Florence and Lester are indeed buried there.
We have many photos of rosa, and the house in whitesboro.texas.
And several of a large Truitt family.
Dave's ( hubby) mother had a stroke back in 2009 and some names and info are hard to get, so her memory of them is sketchy. But not gone. But she can't remember them all!
We were hoping someone out there knew of Sam and rosa...
Maybe to locate more of Rosa's history.
Freda ( the daughter in law)

|Freda ||Rosa and Sam Also Cassius, and Mary Burkett.|
My grandmother was raised by Rosa and Sam.
Rosa's sister Thirza ( Terzy) died months after birth of her fifth child. Eventually she was given to them to raise her.
She became their " daughter". Florence.
My grandmother lived with Rosa until she married. And later after three children, and a divorce, returned. So, my mother was also living there. After Rosa's death, and a new marriage they moved to California. Where Florence is buried.
My mother is indeed very much alive, and we are seeking any information out there about Rosa's family. We know her parents are Daniel Calvin Burkett. And Mary E. Isom Burkett.
We know that her mother is in the Truitt plot at north Dexter cemetery. Also, we have a few Truitt photos, but names are not known.

I am researching my mother's branch of the family, which are Truitt's. My 3rd G Grandparents are Lemuel C Truitt and Clarissa Broughton, originally from Maryland and settling in Noble, Illinois. I am particularly interested in any information on earlier ancestors.
Thank you for whatever you can provide.

I have made the links for William Alvey to his parents. I was aware of them, but had not created a memorial since I had no cemetery for them. As far as Alvey research goes, it really is not my immediate family. My main interest is the Lamar family and a good bit of my information is on this site. William and Mary Lamar Alvey are buried in one of the Catholic cemeteries, probably St. Mary's. They will eventually turn up. I have not taken the time to look since I
have been busy adding cemeteries and taking photos in my spare time.
Thanks for creating the memorials for Cornelius and Susan Alvey.

Hi Dawn, I bet his father's name is also George Franklin. Would you be so kind to remove the death certificate from the memorial. Just a personal preference not to have DC's on memorials. THanks. I created mem for Annie Elizabeth Betts but wish I could be sure she is at Houston and not with George. much appreciated!
Added by genieresearcher on Jan 06, 2014 8:04 AM
you know I thought it looked like Hinston or Houston. Maybe they have a number and I'll phone to verify so I can create memorial there for her. thanks for taking the time to look at her DC. If you have any other ideas, would be appreciated. thanks for your kindness Dawn.

Are you able to read the cemetery name on her death certificate 1925 Seaford? Would be nice to find her for you & your family so all can be reunited!

Hi, just wanted to let you know a very kind contributor deleted their memorial for George and posted the photo of a great old stone onto your memorial. I'm searching for his wife - I'd think she'd likely be buried there with him. I've linked a child to your memorial. If you find her would you let me know? thanks!
