Hello Lynn ... I came across the note you wrote to Lee Perry Warren (Find A Grave Contributor #47134075). I had a "dispute" with a Find A Grave Contributor a while back (wrong information, wrong cemetery location) for someone who should have been better documented. I was able to "go around" the contributor and contacted directly and stated my case, inserting my bio information for the person as well as evidence from a newspaper article at the time of where the actual cemetery was located. To make a long story short, the editors simply "moved" the person to the right place and put my biographical information in. It may also be the case that this contributor (Lee Perry Warren) is no longer active on Findagrave, which would present a very good case for the transferral of the memorial for Cynthia Sallie Hon Morton to you. She is my third great grandmother. There would be a good case for me attempting to have the memorial transferred since I am a direct line descendant. Let me know what you think. -- Pat Iverson

RE: James McGahey tombstone
Thanks for the info - and quick response! Can you add the additional photo? I'm not 100% sure this is my family but I'm trying to gather everything I can. Really appreciate all you are doing for Findagrave. And, again, for the readable photo! - Jean

James McGahey tombstone
I see (from picture posted on Memorial) that the tombstone of David McGahey, James' brother, is broken. It looks as it this may be the one next to James's stone from what I can see from your picture. A picture wouldn't be necessary but I would like to know if that is the situation. Pls don't make a special trip. Regards, Jean Taylor, Houston, TX

James McGahey tombstone
Thank you so much for the picture of James McGahey's tombstone in Round Hill Cemetery! I can read it clearly and that is what I needed. There seems to be a broken stone next to it on the same base. If you are ever back in that cemetery, would you take a picture of that stone also? I'm hoping there is enough to read. I am just learning about this family so this would be a great help. And also to know if there are any other McGahey's next to James other than the broken one. Many thanks again for your time in fulfilling my photo request!! Jean Taylor, Houston, TX

Joseph Falcon at Round Hill
Thank you for letting me know. I don't really have any other recourse except to leave the memorial as is and make a note to the effect that he appears in both the Tennessee Death Index and the Tennessee Death and Burial Index as being buried at Round Hill. I also noted that he is not in the burial book for the cemetery, nor that a volunteer wishing to take a picture of the stone could not find one. (Something is grammatically wrong with that last sentence . .) Thank you for attempting to find him. He would not have been brought back to Louisiana for burial. He had lived too long in Tennessee. I did find his wife's burial place back in Louisiana. That is his son and his wife stone that are buried there. But, I took the request off; if he had a stone, you would have found it. Judy

RE: Quitman and Ruth Brandon
I'm sorry but I did the best I could for your photos. The one shot through the fence was meant to show the closeness of the marker to the fence. The others are inside the fence but with the sun casting a shadow on the marker and with only a foot and 1/2 to work, it was impossible to get a better shot. Maybe if someone else can take the shot in the morning rather than afternoon. I always try to post a photo as if it were my own family member but I did all I could do.

John Grundy Russell
This is where I came up with eveything

Name came from:

Listed as John A. in 1850 & 1860

1850 DeKalb Co, AL
John Russel 30 GA
Permelia Russel 27 SC
Mary E Russel 9
Margarette C Russel 6
Linnia R Russel 2
John A Russel 1
Elizabeth Lamar 49

1860 Pontotoc Co, MS
Jno M Russell 39 SC
Milly Russell 35 SC
Mary E Russell 17
Margaret C Russell 15
Lilly R Russell 13
John A Russell 10
Porter H Russell 7
Charlotta A Russell 6
Nathan V F Russell 3
Fanny King Russell 1
Elizabeth Lamar 58

Pontotoco Cem book has :

J. G. Russell 1849 - 1906
listed same cemetery as John and Permelia

There is a John A. listed in the cemetery but his birth year is 1843 which pretty much rules him out as same John according to census, and lists his Father's Birthplace South Carolina, Mother's Birthplace Tennessee in 1880 census

Alice Savage
Alice Savage already has a memorial page and their is already a photo request. I should have given you the link earlier. Her full name is Mary Alice Savage. Birth date on her gravestone says 1870 but correct birth date is 1873. When the double stone for her and her sister Arzinia was placed, a mistake was made on birth date for Alice and they likely did not put her first name because she went by Alice.

Mary Alice Savage #103045834
Arzinia Savage #103941672

Reed Cemetery, Marshall Co. TN

Robert Denney
I looked for a marker for Robert Denney b. 1802 d.1882 at the Ridgley Community Cemetery in Missouri and could not find anything I do have a picture of a marker that is for the Denney children of FM and A. Denney. No date! There are many Denneys in this cemetery but no Robert. Didn't know if this helps at all. I live very close to this cemetery, so if you have others there that you want, let me know. I can send the pic of the "children of" marker if you want.

Thanks, Karen

Death Date for Richard Morton (b. 1794)
Hello Lynn ... Thanks for your recent email to me regarding the death date for Richard Morton (b. 1794). Even though the Hon Book states that he died in 1876, Lynn Morton in his "Morton Story" notes that the death date for Richard is in question and that some have him dying in 1876 while others state 1880, as I have listed on his memorial. Is there any way to check to make sure of the date of his death? I have down 1 March 1880. The page of the Morton Story that gives the discrepancy is on page 6 of that book. What should we do? Perhaps I can simply mention the varying death years in my bio for him? - Pat Iverson

Joseph Hon
I have been reading your information on Joseph Hon via FindaGrave and on I just wanted to make certain that I was correct in what you are saying. Any information pertaining to Joseph P. Hon is not correct for Joseph Hon, Sr. who married Mariah "Mary" Knodler and Joseph Hon was not involved in the military, specifically the Revolutionary war? Do you know if he was a German Baptist or Dunkard? I am married into the family who is related to Joseph Hon and there is so much information out there, that it's hard to know what is true and what isn't. Thanks for the information! Jennifer Smith
