Hi Renee. Curious if your family is decended from the Minnicks that married into mine. Henry Almand Rogers was married 4 times, 2 of whom were Minnick sisters (Rose and Adelia I think). Is this your family?

RE: Pratt Family
Hi Renee, I tried sending you a message a couple of weeks ago but for whatever reason, Find A Grave "put the message on hold". First time I've seen that. Hopefully this one goes thru. Yes, I went to Whitewater and found the cemetery. You will certainly need someone to get you in to the cemetery. It is completely fenced in and all gates are locked. I called city hall and was told the person you need to contact is Lee Hollingshead. I have his cell number but probably should not put it on Find A Grave. Send me an email message and I'll send his number to you. Lee is also in charge of the Hillside cemetery in Whitewater which is just a couple blocks away from the Oak Grove cemetery. I did get your message regarding the burial locations.

My email is

RE: Melinda Mack Pratt
Hi Renee, The two women's pictures are wives of Norman Pratt, (Eliza Jane Williams) and Freeman Liberty Pratt, (Melinda Mack). Norman and Freeman are brothers, sons of Asaph and Hannah Anderson Pratt. The book can be downloaded or read free on line. Our Genealogy Library has a copy. I assume the Whitewater Library may have a copy as well.

Questions: Is Morgante's wife Anna buried with him?
When did Sarah Ellen Olcott die? Her death date is not available on Find A Grave. Do you know anything about Katie Estella or James Pratt, the other kids of Morgante?

I will be going to the cemetery as soon as the snow melts here. Not sure when you plan on visiting but according to the internet, you need to make arrangements with someone prior to visiting the cemetery. I will check it out and let you know. (Too much vandalism). I haven't checked on all the lands that they owned but I know the north side of Whitewater where the large Catholic Church was part of their farm. I would assume the buggy shop is still standing also. Whitewater is a very old city with lots of original buildings still standing and still in use.

Do you have the Pratt tree back to Matthew? I can send you what I have on this family if you are interested.

RE: Melinda Mack Pratt
Hi Renee, I got the two Pratt women's photo's from the book "Early Annals Of Whitewater 1837-1867" written by Prosper Cravath. I was helping another researcher of the Dodge family which ties into the Pratt's. I am a native of Whitewater and am on the Dodge/Jefferson Counties Genealogical Society board so I have an interest in the area. I don't have any Pratt contacts. There are Pratt's still living in Whitewater and it's a good possibility that they are direct descendants. By chance, do you know what became of Norman Pratt?
