| Information on Grose Family I really appreciate all the extra effort you put into researching both of these photo requests for me and I am adding everything that you found to my family tree. I am fairly confident that the spelling is either Grose or Grosse and William F. was born Wilhelm Friedrich, but as so many immigrans did...he Americanized his name. The only document I have that shows the Grosse spelling is the immigration passenger list where Wilhelm age 48 and Henriette 42, arrived in NYC aboard the Freihandel on 06/01/1870.
The photo requests were mine, because I was really interested in finding their graves as they are family to me and you probably know from previously working with me ...I live in Florida, but the actual memorials belong to someone else. I hope I haven't crossed some "naughty" line by requesting photos for memorials that aren't mine...I never thought about it that way. Let me know if I've "been bad." Maybe I should send this information...or you should also copy in the original owner of the memorials. I think I might know the person, but I'm not really sure. He may have been a member of my church, but I've been gone from home so very long, no one would remember me anyway.
Again, I really appreciate all that you tried to do for me. Thanks ever so much.

| Globe Thanks - but when you wrote "just a note of info. and I read your notation of different records indicating different dates -city historic records say birth of 1852" - did you mean 1882?

| RE: Richard Wittkowsky No, I don't know if one is on order. There's a monument store close to me called "Stone Art Memorial Co." I don't know if there is a store up in North Tonawanda. Do you know who the man in charge of the records at St. Matthew Lutheran is? If it's David Wendt, I have tried on and off at times to get some information from the cemetery records there from him, but it's always been busy.Added by BK on Apr 30, 2013 11:25 AM | |

| Richard Wittkowsky I figured he'd be buried next to his parents and his marker possibly wasn't in yet (some are placed sooner than others) because he died in May of last year. TY for locating his plot. His marker may be placed sometime this summer. If you go back around August or so, it might be in by then.Added by BK on Apr 27, 2013 5:38 PM | |

| Walter and Nellie Richardson Donna,
Thanks very much for taking the time to photograph Walter and Nellie's gravestone. It's a long way to Niagara from where I live, and therefore unlikely that I would ever have the chance to take the picture myself.
This is a very nice community service you are performing - one that I appreciate very much.
Would you have any objection to my copying your photo onto my Ancestry.com family tree?
Thanks again for your help,

| Harold Jacoby Thank you for the photo of Harold's cenotaph in Niagara Falls. I will repost the photo request, hoping that someone in Europe will get a photo of his marker there.
I noticed that we ended up with two copies of the burial record. I would appreciate it if you would remove one of them.
Thanks again, and have a great weekend!Added by Bob Wilson on Apr 13, 2013 12:04 PM

| RE: Jacoby, Harold Donna,
Thank you for your work on this!
Harold actually has a memorial where he is buried in France (# 55993591). This memorial was transferred to me when I sent an "Edit" request. The inscription at Niagara Falls would be termed a Cenotaph. You might want to check out the FAQ's for Find a Grave (under "Help with Find a Grave" in the left-hand column of the page) to see how they prefer to deal with these.
Probably the best solution would be to upload the photo of the family marker to his memorial in France, but NOT as a Grave photo (under "Type of Photo") -- rather, "Other" would be a more appropriate designation. There is an existing photo request for his grave marker in France, but it may be a while before anyone fulfills it.
Thanks again, and have a great week!Added by Bob Wilson on Apr 10, 2013 1:45 AM
