Hendrick Banta
In think your Hendrick Banta memorial #84161275 is the same Hendrick Banta in memorial #57504575.

Etta Kirkman
Terri, Thanks again for the notification of the error. I corrected the names, but then transferred my photos of the Kirkpatrick headstones to the original entry for Etta and W F Kirkpatrick and deleted my entries.

I believe your picture for Etta is incorrect. It says Kirkpatrick ~~ not Kirkman?? Thank you for bringing this to my attention, but could you please tell me at least which cemetery you are talking about? Cyndy

Undertaker's Gr-Granddaughter
RE: John Kirkman
Are you on, I found him with Emma and 3 daughters. Daughter Hulda married Woodson T Jones and died 4.2.1938, probably buried at walnut Grove in Boonville, Mo. :o)

Undertaker's Gr-Granddaughter
RE: John Kirkman
Went back today and no John. Her stone is blank on 3 side and to the right has no headstones. All the headstones that are there are readable, but many are broken at base and missing. :(

Don't know. None by Emma. I'll try and stop by Monday and check the whole cemetery for John or any Kirkman as long as it does not rain. :o)

RE: James Haley Shaw
Hello again Terri,
I just took a quick look at your family tree. Your Lula is NOT James Haley Shaw's Lula. His Lula married Alonzo Louis Willis in Armstrong County, Texas on 24 Dec 1893.
I am disappointed.
Keep hunting.

RE: James Haley Shaw
Hi Terri,
Always nice to hear from kinfolk. Thanks for writing.
Unlike the other Callier Shaw children, I have hit a blank wall with James Haley. His first wife died when he was only 33, so there is a good possibility that he remarried. And, it is possible that he married a woman with Indian connections. Two of the daughters (Frances and Laura) married brothers who were of 1/2 Choctaw descent.
I will be happy to send you whatever I have on the Shaws.
Email me at:

Hendrick Banta
Hello, I noticed that you had created a memorial for Hendrick, it list him as being buried on the Bergen Farm, I am not sure, but that has since then become the Pleasuresville Cemetery. Thank you for doing this memorial. He is one of my Great Grandfathers,

Thank you for the marker ,but at the top of the page it still says Emily C. Buenger not Emil C Buenger. People may wonder which way the name is to be spelled.
Thank you again for the picture.

Henry Banta

Not sure if this will help you or not, but thought I would mention it. If you go to the web and look up the Filson Club HIstory Quarterly, Vol. 53, No. 3 dated July, 1979 it has a list of burials for the oldest part of the Pleasureville Cemetery that was used by the members of the "Low Dutch Colony" who settled in the area during the early 1800's. George Bergen and his wife are listed, so it is possible this is the original cemetery developed on his farm. Henry Banta is not listed in any of the cemeteries located in Shelby County as of 1979. Of course, it is possible the stone could not be read or possibly lost to time. DJ

Susan Banta
Hi Terri,

Thanks for the additional information on Susan Banta, but since she's an ancestor of yours (and no relation to me), I thought I'd just tranfer management of her memorial to you and let you update her info!

Best regards,
Nancy (Folmar) Reykdal
