missing info
Hello Jon,
I went back and looked at the information listed for Fernando Maxson and noticed that you did not have a place or date of birth for his wife, Catherine Almira Clark. She was born in Sidney, NY on June 13, 1831 and married Fernadndo in Knoxville, PA, Aug. 8, 1861

I always wondered why Fernando had a Spanish first name and assumed that one of his parents had Spanish heritage, but the information on your site proved me wrong. Thanks again for your research.

descendant of William Maxson
Hi Jon,
I'd like to thank you for the information you provided about my great-great-grandfather(Fernando Stephen Maxson) and his ancestors. When my father, William Banks Maxson II died, I inherited a book of family genealogy (History and Genealogy of Samuel Clark, Sr.) but it had no mention of Fernando Maxson's parents. Thanks to your site, I was able to trace his roots quite a bit further. According to this book, Fernando was born in Knoxvile, PA and is father to William Banks Maxson I (my great-Grandfather) who was an editor for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. His wife is listed in this book as Gertrude Perdue (not Pardue). My brother, who lives in New Mexico, has inherited the family title and is Williams Banks Maxson III. I have always wanted to visit the family plot at Lakeview Cemetery, and now I feel equipped with the right information to do so. Thanks again, Cindy (nee Maxson) Mehr.

Charles Freemont Clarke
Hi Jon,

I am trying to add some information to a site you support. Charles Fremont Clarke had another living daughter who is not listed. If you read the obit it says that he left behind four small children. Four are listed, but one of them listed was Lester who was dead at the time of his father's death. The fourth living daughter was Maria "Marie" Gertrude Clarke born in 1901–on 2 SEPTEMBER 1901 • Berlin, Green Lake, Wisconsin, United States. Her death is Unknown. She was my great-aunt and my Aunt who is in her late 80's knew her and would love to know the rest of the story. Maybe if we get this up someone will add the rest.
We also know she Married 24 September 1919 • Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan, United States to
Delos Vivan Scott (1897–1932) and then divorced without children. Her Residence in 1930 • St Louis, St Louis (Independent City), Missouri, USA where she at some point married a Mr. Wortman by 1932 as she was listed by that name in her Aunt Amanda Eveline Clarke (Maxson's) obit. In the 1940 census she was listed as a widow living St Louis, St Louis City, Missouri, USA. That is the nd of th trail that we have and anything you can add to the site would help. We have pictures of the three girls and their brothers as young children and Marie was raised by Her Uncle and Aunt {the Maxson's} until she was 18. Thanks, Sue Thompson

RE: Riverside Cemetery
YAY for you, Jon...both for reading to granddaughter and for researching! I was raised across the Big Lake in Muskegon and have done lots of research on my Swedes in Door County...still hope to get up there some time to meet up with a 3rd cousin who accompanied me along the winding trail. God help and bless all those who do such!

Interesting fact on the Metta Wilson family. Her father and her uncle were both married to a woman by the name of Mandane Lowther, but not the same Mandane Lowther.

Elizabeth Bennett #17479305
I have an Elizabeth Bennett b.23 Aug 1855, Pittsfield, MA d. bef 1897, who was married to David Lester Evans in Stockbridge, MA in 1880. He is probably buried in Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield, MA, but I cannot confirm that. Lizzie was his first wife, followed by Clara Bagg and Martha Smith. Both his parents are buried in Pittsfield Cem. and may be found on Find A Grave. Lizzie's parents were Charles A. and Angeline M. Bennett; haven't found their graves either. Let me know if you think this is the correct Elizabeth Bennett, and I'll send you the edits for this memorial.

Hi Jon,
First let me say you must be very trustworthy and respected by Find A Grave for them to transfer 6000 memorials to you. What a honor that is. You must do an excellence job on making your memorials.

I was wondering if I may please use your photos to add to my family tree. This is the first one I had looked at so there might be more.

Thank you for taking on the project so all of the rest of us and benefit from your time and effort that it takes you to do this.

Hello Jon and thanks for all you do! You added an obituary from The Sabbath Recorder: vol. 15 no 29 page 115 for Mrs. Mercy Lovinice Emerson. I don't know if the obit or you provided the info on Mercy's parents. Mercy had an older half sister named Olive Burdick, who died in Cattaraugus County NY in 1899. We have lots of information but nothing that states her parents, Uriah and Olive Sutliff Burdick or a marriage record to Silas C. Phelps. Did the Sabbath Recorder post marriages? and where could I access copies? Thanks so much. Martha Reinhart

RE: Florence McCaffery
You are very welcome. Yes she is related to my husband. She is the daughter of my husband's paternal great grandmother's sister and she married my husband's paternal grandfather's cousin. Are you related? I can send you more specifics if you are interested. I guess I had better try to make the connections on Find A Grave.
