Hi, Carl. Found another of your Dr. Ephraim Charlton & Sarah Harris Charlton flock at Mt Olivet, and completely forgot to link him to his parents before transferring.

Martha Read Charlton
Carl,
I found Martha Read Charlton in Find A Grave Memorial# 11567891.
Can we fill in her middle name, birth and death dates for her, and link to her parents Richard Charlton (Memorial# 66301357) and Mary Elizabeth Todd (Memorial# 11567579)?

Thank you!
Leeann

Martha Read Charlton
Hi cousin Carl,

Can we add their daughter Martha Read Charlton b. Oct. 9, 1861 Raymond, Hinds, Mississippi - d. Feb. 28, 1937 Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee (parents were Liet. Col. Richard Charlton and Mary Elizabeth Todd).

According to FHL Film Number: 1876847 in Tennessee Deaths and Burials Index about Martha Charlton Sivley, she was buried in Raymond, Miss. on March 1, 1937.

thank you!

Forsythe, Georgia was birthplace of Virginia "Jennie" Lowe Charlton
Jennie was born near Forsythe, Georgia at Mrs. Taylor's house according to this letter written by Jennie's niece, Ethel Sivley. It states Jennie's mother, Mary Elizabeth Todd, followed her husband, Col. Richard Charlton, to Georgia where he was camped during the Civil War.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 11567579
Recorded by Mary Todd's niece Mrs. Sivley Moore to her cousin Julie Barksdale of Mississippi in a letter dated Oct. 11, 1936: Mary Elizabeth Todd "died in the home of her daughter, Martha Charlton Sivley, in Jackson, Mississippi; buried in the family lot in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Raymond, Mississippi."
Mary Elizabeth Todd was first married to Col. Richard Charlton and it is likely she is buried in the Charlton Cemetery, Raymond, Hinds County, Mississippi with the Charlton family and not with her second husband Judge Chrisman.

I am Mary Elizabeth Todd's 2x great granddaughter, and have this typewritten letter posted on my ancestry tree. She was first married to Col. Richard Charlton and it is likely she is buried in the Charlton cemetery with her family.

Spring Hill Cemetery
As you have probley seen there are alot of requests, that have not as yet gotten fullfilled and they may not either if the requestors dont call the Spring Hill office for the locations .
So you may have to delete the original request and do over by calling the Cemetery office for location of your familys interment for pic takers to actually get the pics for you.

I suggest you may have to call the Funeral Home Office and ask for the locations of any of your loved ones . And then put the location section in the request so the people who go to take pics wont have to go to the office to ask for the locations .
615-865-1101

The last times I went to ask for locations , the people in the office there said, they would have to charge non family members 5 dollars to look up locations, because they were much too busy helping the family members of interments .
Good luck in your Ancestry searches.

Kathy

Jennings Charlton
Carl,

Do you happen to know the children of Jennings Charlton? A Lucy J. Charlton, b1821, married my great-uncle, James T. Harris in 1842, Sumner co, TN, so I was wondering if she might be one of his children.

Thanks in advance,
Phil Streiff

Hello! Sorry for not getting right back with a reply. I have been looking for your message, only I was looking in ancestry.com! Thanks for any help you can give me regarding Lydia Easley. All I know is that she was born 13 Jul 1822 in TN and died 24 Nov 1877 in Salem, Marion, IL. No one on ancestry has anything about her.

Thanks again.
Rhonda

Easley family
Hello - I noticed you have a lot of information about the Easley family. I am searching for my grea-grandmother, Lydia Easley Toland's mother and father. Was wondering if it could possibly be Millington and Rahab Alsup Easley? Lydia was born in 1822, which fits in between their oldest, Martha b 1820 and the next, Mary Ann b 1824. Any help would be very much appreciated.

RE: Hortleder, and Kramer :
I see the Kramers on the list. Please don't cancel your request. I am sure all the volunteers have a different process. For me, I look at the oldest "outside" request and then look to fulfill others in that same area. Right now, the oldest is dated July 11th and located in Eventide.

The cemetery is huge but I do think the volunteers are doing a pretty good job at keeping the accessible requests under two months to fill. The requests for the mausoleums are more difficult and access is very limited which is why there are some requests that can a year.
