Hello,
I have deleted my memorial that was duplicated. Not a problem. What I am really confused about right now is why I ever added that memorial. I have not been to that cemetery so I added that from the cemetery books and must have had some connection. I have looked at my tree and don't see it. Are you a Burns or possibly a Grant descendant?
Thanks,
Ellece

RE: Oscar W Phillips Headstone
No problem. Our church has begun an ongoing service project to try to get to all of the cemeteries in our area and take photos of all of the head stones that are not on the list of interments. Hopefully this will help these churches and cemeteries to have a full list (or close to it) for people who are doing there genealogy.

JD Knighten
Hey Millie was trying to clear up this JD Knighten mess and I seen your comment about it. Was I mistaken by the 1930 census listed him as John D. Knighten? Was that the name you knew as well? We knew JD was his initials. Never heard of someone with only initials before.

Ezekiel PHILLIPS
Thank you for posting the photo of Ezekiel. I do appreciate it and have deleted the paragraph about it not being found. Interesting that 2 people went to look for me, one related to Ezekiel and she even said there was no record at the cemetery itself for him! So to my surprise you had the photo.

Appreciate your kindness,
Dianne

PS Have added his death certificate info to the memorial also so if you don't have a copy of it, let me know and I will send you a copy.

Mission complete. I added birth date, bio and linked with parents. I got a little behind doing this because as I report in by profile, I travel a lot and don't always have internet service. Since Mr. Millican is related to you I'll be happy to transfer management of his memorial to you. Please let me know. Take care.

Hi Millie, nice to met you. The photo is of Aaron Claibon Drake. It would be nice to have a picture of John Marshall, maybe one day one will be found.

Take Care, and if you need any help with any research, please feel free to contact me, my email is on my profile or leave a message

Poplar Grove Cemetery
Millie:

The old-timers that were buried in Poplar Grove Cemetery either were too poor to afford a marker or a make-shift marker may have been made and deteriorated over time. I have many family members that I have not found a marker for. I've been over the whole graveyard many times. I've also been told that at one time "Goats" were put in the graveyard to eat the grass that needed to be cut which only damaged the markers. Just wanted to touch base with you on these things.

I've linked the Millican children with Dewey. If you send me info on Dewey's wife, I'll try to locate her in the Wallace State Genealogy Library.

Millie,

You might try sending an email to Scott A. Martin of Birmingham, AL at:

bevel67@aol.com

He is the only person I know who is a member of the association for Union Hill Cemetery.

Perhaps he can help with a photo.

Union Hill Cemetery
Millie,

I don't live far from Union Hill Cemetery, here in Birmingham, but the problem with it, is that it is a private cemetery, posted, the gate is chained shut, although you can walk through beside it, but one could get in trouble doing so.

The cemetery is run by the descendants of those buried there and you would have to seek permission from them in order to enter it.

Wish I could help you.

John Dempsey
I've walked the cemetery a hundred times with my dog. John has no marker along with about two hundred other souls. I added his name along with others from newspapers, obit and other records who lived in Garden City when they died. He might be buried elsewhere but all his researchers and I believe he is here. I've researched the Millican/Milligan Family till I'm blue in the face, if you need help write me at plowboy34v50@yahoo.com

Couple of Gravers
RE: Norman Seemann
Hi Millie,

You are very welcome. As mentioned in the photo caption, that particular portion of the cemetery is a little confusing. When initially plotted, the lots along the northeast edge of section H was set up as family sized lots. Those sections were later sold as individual lots. I'll keep an eye out for their marker when I go back to the cemetery, as cemetery records can be erroneous, particularly in this type of confusing situation.

Sincerely

Chuck
