Albert Richard Sorenson
Hi,

I have information that one of my relatives, Evelyn Jean Leisure b.1932 was married to Albert. They were married in 1953 and divorced in 1970. I wonder if you might have any information about them?

Thank you,
Mariel

Greenwood Cemetery Olav Ystesund
Please check spouses for
Olav Ystesund 42692132
Wife Nora E Skauge Ystesund 42692083 and
Wife Nora Stensrud Ystesund 42692112.
He was married to two different Noras I think. However the birth dates are the same in the memorial but they are different on the two different grave stones. At least that is what it seems like.

More Beckstrands
I've found and more Beckstrands while wandering through cemeteries this summer. Feel free to view them at my profile page under contributions area by last name. Thanks again for the note - whenever I see them, I stop for a moment and wonder if they are someone you are searching for. MHH

RE: Elna Johnson
Just put two Beckstrand on in Acoma Zion cemetery in McLeod county, please check and see if these are related.

I'll check for the correct number on the Johnson's for you and get that to you. Not being family, I don't know if they'd take me seriously, but would be happy to capture the image!

Online tonight...

RE: Peter Thomforde
I have transfered Peter Thomforde memorial to you. Most likely there are others buried in this cemetery. If you send me a message in late Spring I will check it out. Snow to deep now.

RE: Ingar and Gustaf
Oh, yes! I was trying to locate Ingar and Gustaf for you, wasn't I? It just seemed odd that there was nothing around in the exact spot except for an Elnar and silly me couldn't read the language, Norwegian or Swede?, on the stone, other than the name. Otherwise, it sure matched the plot and lot. I wonder if Ingar and Gustaf are in a church cemetery in the area.... There just wasn't any indentations in the ground to indicate anything in the area. I didn't see any sign of a flat stone. But, the way Elnar's stone was a little ajar on the base made me wonder if there was another that had been broken.

Gosh, if I can help any more, please let me know. Thanks so much for the update on how Elnar fit into your family - a piece to the puzzle! Such fun! If you'd like me to transfer her account please let me know - be happy to!!

Thank you for such a wonderful present, too.

RE: Ingar and Gustaf
I found just one Johnson stone in the area ( it was rather isolated as if stones were missing) for Elna Johnson, wife of Gustav A. Johnson. I created a memorial for her and added the stone if you'd like to check.

This is an older part of the cemetery - when I was at city hall, the gal mentioned that some stones had sunken into the ground and they don't know until someone inquires. I found the same problem when fulfilling another request in Litchfield, but that stone had a sliver visible right at the sod level. I hope the City can be of more help.

RE: Henry and Elizabeth Peters
In speaking to a man who works at the cemetaries, mowing grass, he said that the location where our great-grandparents are buried is now considered part of St. John's Lutheran Cemetary. St. John's and Oakwood cemetaries abut one another. I have not changed your great-grandparents burial locations as I am not positive that he is correct. If I find out more, I will let you know.

RE: Otto and Valeria Peters
There was also another Peters buried not too far away from Otto...Emma A. (Peters) Cramer. I did create a memorial for her and her husband (Mathias Cramer) and added the pictures of the tombstones. Not sure if she may be a sister to Otto?

You're welcome. I just never heard the Blixt name other than on my teacher and since he was also from Minnesota, I wondered if there was a connection. Take Care & God Bless

Blixt
I transferred both Lila's and Tiva's pages to you. Are you any relation to a Russell Gottfried Blixt II by chance? He was a high school teacher of mine in the mid-1980s. He came from Minneapolis and had been a DJ before becoming a teacher. About my junior year, he took off on an exchange to Turkey for a year and ended up staying for several. I graduated in 1987 and don't know what happened to him after that. He was a heck of a teacher, though. He used to say that his original family name was Anderson, I think. His ancestor was on a ship in the military and there were so many Andersons that he was one of those asked to change his name and he chose Blixt. I know that must have been a common practice because my sister's MIL's ancestors were asked to change their name from Larsen. They chose a really unusual name after a mountain in Norway.

I have seen about 1898. I need your email address to send the photos. Do you know where your great grandmother is? Albert's mother. Was her name Johanna?

I did confirm with the Lakewood Cemetery office that Edith Johnson is buried in that plot with the others, but there is no marker.

RE: Thanks yet again!
You're quite welcome. I have a headstone photo of a Mabel Peters Alexander that was between Rudolph and Myrtle, but there is no memorial on Find A Grave for her. If you want, I can send that photo to you for future consideration. Also, there was no headstone in the vicinity for an Edith Johnson, per your photo request. Have a good day.
