Tom, I can't thank you enough for taking these photos for me and my family. This is my mom's favorite aunt and uncle, and I loved them dearly. The chance of us getting back to California is practically nil, so this means everything to me! Thank you again!

Thank you very much for taking the photo of Mel's grave marker. I worked for him in the 1960's in the Office Services Division of the City of Modesto (CA). He was also a great, well known local musician (saxophone) and a good friend to many.

Thanks again,
John Woolsey

Bailey family requests at Oakgrove Cemetery in Grand Rapids
Went out to Oakgrove Cemetery - very small, quaint cemetery (I have been there quite often). I found the markers for Gilbert Bailey and his wife, Mary. They are in the same plot - 04-45 as James, Ruby and Emma Bailey, whose photos you had requested. There are no other markers in that plot except those for Gilbert and Mary. In the area where James, Ruby and Emma would be buried, there is an old cement(?) planter box with some artificial flowers in it. Maybe someone put that there to mark the graves. I took a picture of it and placed it on James' memorial page. You can, of course, remove it if you don't want it there.

Sorry, and good luck
Diane Zoulek

RE: Mizzell graves
You're welcome; the plot had the family stone, surname inscribed on both sides, in the center with two individual flat stones on one side and three on the other. It would have been neglectful not to document all family members present.

RE: Sopers

Hello Tom,

It was my pleasure! In the fall, when the leaves are off the trees...say November...I hope to capture a better photo of the SOPER MONUMENT, and perhaps the Soper gravestones, as well. But, for now, you have something.

Best Regards,

Mike Cronk
