His grandson is an Aikens to which I am an 3rd Cousin once removed and who I have been in recent contact with. I would be grateful if you would like to transfer it over. Thank you so much for putting this remembrance online.

Zanas Bliss at Springfield Cemetery
I agree -- the photo is too low a resolutiom to be useful. Unfortunately, it is covered with sod and snow and not very accssible.

Contrary to the Findagrave entry, Zenas Bliss died at his home in Springfield, MA on Saturday, May 25, 1822. Exactly where he was buried is anyone's guess. What we do know is that, some time after 1841, his body was exhumed and removed to Lot 162, owned by Marvin Williams, at Springfield. So were two daughters.

He is buried alongside two daughters, Emeline Bliss (d. Jan. 1806) and Abigail Bliss (d. Mar. 5, 1807, ages 17). They were also removed from their original burial locations. There is no indication of his son, Horace, who died on There is no record of his wife, Mary (d. Sept. 25, 1824 Springfield, aged 67), being buried in this lot.

Marvin Bliss is the son-in-law of Zenas Bliss. He married the daughter of Zenas Bliss, Mary Bliss, on June 14, 1826 (hour years after the death of Zenas Bliss). Their son, Isaac Bliss Wellman, who died on Feb.24, 1833,at age 14 mos., is also buried in Lot 162. And, like everyone else in this Lot, he was remobed from his original burial location.

If you have additional questions about Springfield Cemetery, don't hesitate to ask.

MEMORIAL TRANSFER
Hi Michael,

I had requested a transfer of the Amanda Jackson (Find A Grave 117586220) memorial, which you did for me. I can't locate the obituary to post on this memorial as I intended to do, its seems to have just disappeared, I will transfer the memorial back to you if you would like me to.

Thanx, Mel

RE: Moutian View
Michael, Thank you for the kind words. Mountain View was a hard one but I feel it was worth it if it helps people searching for their family members. These old stones need to be photographed before the writing disappears altogether.

Thank you Michael for the pics from Samples Manor Cemetery of the Strippy Family. I was hoping to see a monument for John E Strippy there also - Not sure where he was laid to rest.

RE: Frederick Kidwiler
I have been meaning to call the church and see if they have registry of graves. I will try tomorrow - I have never seen any cars there - so doubt a secretary is in full employ.

Am assuming you have never been there - it is one of the best kept cemeteries in the area. I don't know what kind of grass seed they use but is like a thick carpet.

I'll see if I can't get there this week - nothing like retirement - love it.

Michael,

Just wondering about something. If Frederick died in 1870 and Florence died in 1930 - her obit says she her death was hastened by the death of her husband 10 days prior ????

I will try to get back out to St Pauls, but those stones at the top of the hill are really hard to read - - will look though.
