RE: Thank you
If you have a picture of the grave of Aldert, that would be great. Aldert was the brother of my greatgreat grandfather.

RE: Melzar Hunt
Hi Susan, You're welcome. I contacted the historical society up there and waited about 5 weeks and never got a response. I knew I saw Browns up there the last time I went, so I had to go and see if i could find him.
I put 4 photos on and I know they are very hard to read and some of it is just not there anymore. I stood there for a while and I made out Born 1791, moved or removed to Chaut. Co. 1818, drowned in Chaut. Lake on Jan. 11 1858.
Now, On 2 other sides, the left side of Melzar is Abigail Brown, wife of Melzar Hunt, died Jan 19 1880 Aged 80 years, then looks like 1 or 11 months 6 days. On the right side, yes here she is in another cemetery, Abigail Dingley, Wife of Melzar Hunt, I can't see the May, but I can see the 8, and it looks like 1854 instead of 1845. Now I wonder, is she buried in Fluvanna or in Sinclairville Evergreen?
If you want to create memorials for one or both I'd be glad to put the photos on.
Ron

James & Margaret Laughlin Bowie gravemarker
Susan, Thank you so much for taking and adding the gravemarker to James and Margaret's memorials. The marker is beautiful. Was it inside a building. It looks like it was on a wall?
Margaret was my grandfather John G. Laughlin's sister.
Thank you again. Susan

It's Suggest a Correction, using the Edit button in the upper right hand corner of the memorial. I believe it's the first link that appears. Regards, Cheri

If you have obituary information you would like to have added, just send along a SaC and I will add it (typically not verbatim, as is the Find A Grave guideline), but I will add the pertinent stuff. Regards, Cheri

I didn't check your entry before commenting and so didn't realize how much work you have done. Maybe the admins can merge the duplicate entries?

Why don't you delete your entry and I will transfer mine over to you as I am no relation to Mr Hunt. You can then add your own bio or whatever to it.

RE: Earl Everidge
That is the location that the cemetery office gave me. I was wondering if this is his son. Do you see any other Everidges nearby? Earl the father was married to Opal. Do you have access to the cemetery office - can you ask them if they have another Earl Everidge?

Hello? It's me. I did the transfers. I normally only work on findagrave twice a month (a deal I worked out with family since they'd rather I spend more time with them, the living, than with dead people as they put it), but as I am home alone sick today, I'll work on requests and they'll never know. Shhh.... I won't tell if you don't ;)

RE: Melzar Hunt
Hi Susan, I know of Dee, she has help many people find out about their ancestors in Chautauqua County. She always goes above and beyond in helping any person searching for relatives.
She transferred several of my Chace Family members in the South Ripley Cemetery to me. 3rd Great Grandparents and a 4th Great Grandfather, plus Aunts and Uncles.
I'll stay on the Hunt for Melzar!

RE: Abigail Dingley Hunt
Hi Susan, I don't know why I said I'd probably be going back to Fluvanna next year, I guess I'm still in 2011. I'll get out that way sometime again this year. Now it's bugging me, I too want to find out where he's buried. With three Hunt family members buried next to each other, you'd think you would find a least one.
I'll go through the photos I took of other headstones in the cemetery and try to find out what plots they are in and maybe I can get a better idea of where in the cemetery they are buried. Sometimes when I know approximately where a plot is, I can actually make something out on a very worn headstone that I couldn't make out before.
I also went to the Hunt Family Cemetery in Chautauqua yesterday and took several photos there.
Sincerely, Ron Kinney

RE: Abigail Dingley Hunt
Hi Susan, You're most welcome. I went to the Fluvanna Cemetery today to see if I could find Melzar, sorry no luck. There are so many headstones that can't be read, so far gone.
Fluvanna is about 35 miles away, but I will probably go there again next year and check again.
In the Fluvanna records online it show Melzar married to an Abigail Brown 1800-Jan 19 1880, old section, lot 173, grave 4, daughter of Alezander Brown. Was he married twice? It also states Melzar born 1791 and he drowned on Jan 11 1858 aged 67. He's in old section, lot 173, grave 3, and Bigal Dingley Hunt, no dates listed, in old section, lot 173, grave 2.
Sincerely, Ron Kinney

Hi,
I went back with a different camera and took a couple of photos of his marker at an angle and it's readable, so replaced the photos on his page.
