RE: Canedy
My wifes family. Her 2nd great grandmother was Polly Mary Canedy buried in Southview cemetery in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Polly's father was Milo Canedy 1821-1908, buried in Heartwellville cemetery in Heartwellville, Vermont.

Does this sound like the same family

I have access to FR VR's, but I wasn't able to establish the connections. I'll have another look. The surname Canedy is certainly apparent in the FR area

Lamb Family
I am not convinced are the parents of these folks. The memorials for Isaac and Mary Lamb in NY are unresearched and unlinked by the creator of those memorials, so I cannot be sure these are the correct parents. If more information becomes available regarding this Isaac and Mary, or if there are sources which will provide the definitive connection, I can move forward.

One More Thing
I located a Marion M Stevens in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and the record shows she used to live in West Springfield, Mass.

Canedy Family
Hi Charles, I am an antique dealer and find all kinds of wonderful things while acquiring my treasures. I purchased a beautiful wooden box from an auction and inside was a note that reads

"This tin box belonged to Unice Canedy of Heartwellville Vt. She was my great grandmother. It always sat on a highboy upstairs in her home.

This wooden box belonged to the same person. It was made by her step son when he served time in Bennington prison for the murder of a married neighbor, when he became jealous of the neighbor and his sweetheart. The sweetheart waited and married him the day he was free. They left town and were never head from again.

The wood for the boxes he made was brought to him by friends. The prison in those days didn't give prisoners anything.

Unice had two girls one Climena born 1849 and my aunt Sophronie called Min and Fron what names."

Then there is a name in pencil "Marion Stevens, West Springfield, Mass."

I am posting this as a public note in case anyone in the family would be interested in this tidbit of family folklore. I am not sure how much of the information is correct in the note, so I always try to research when I find things like this -- that's how I came to connect with you.

Sure, I would like that. We were in the Readsboro, Stamford, Heartwellsville area a couple of years ago, doing research on my husband's family. Do you live in that area? Where did the Canedy's come from before Vt.?

Thanks. Information added. I have Bennetts in my family tree, not sure if Orlando connects, but am in the habit of taking pictures when in the basic areas where they lived.

Thank you for the lovely photo of her tombstone - the marker is in excellent condition. I changed her name on the memorial to match the marker. If after you have researched her name - you believe it should be spelled differently....let me know and I will update her memorial.

Hi,

I transferred Lovina Lee to you. I entered a group of records for Houghton Cemetery. Very few were related to me, so I'm transferring records when relatives contact me.

Hope this works for you!

RE: Elenore Franke
Thank you Charles, for the parental links.

In the future to ease the process, when asking to update a memorial page, please use the "Edit" tab (upper rigth of memorial page) and the "Suggest a correction..." link. Find A Grave will automatically generate an e-mail the the required infromation. I keep a copy of that e-mail for my records when I update or transfer a meorial page.

Thanks again for helping me make my memorial pages as compelet and accurate as possible.
