Johan Helfer Cramer
Hi Cousin Chris:

It is good to hear from you. I'm assuming your mom has the Clarence Cramer document about our lineage? I descend from Helfer's son Henry Cramer, his son, Israel. I thank Clarence for my genealogy. Do you know the history of it? If not, Clarence hired a genealogist in York County, PA to trace the family tree. He gave a copy to all the Cramer Cousins at Christmas cheer them because of the war. My g-grandmother had passed in 1940 so our branch of the family tree never received a copy. The wonderful Clarence left copies of it in York County, Fostoria, Ohio, the NSDAR Library in DC...I've found it in all those places. I tracked Clarence on Ancestry, and he passed in 1966.

I have not been able to find a portait of Helfer, but would also love to have it.

Has your mom joined the DAR? We are a wonderful organization having fun supporting our communities. My Chapter, in Orange Park, Florida, is very active in Education and Patriotism...doing simple things such as collecting empty aluminum cans, recycling them for the $$$, and donating the funds to a charity that trains guide dogs for disabled veterans. Doesn't cost us anything, but it is hugh for this small charity.
