Allgood families in VA
I have transferred to you all the Allgood memorials that I had started.

When we go into a cemetery, we take photos of all the stones, and put them into the proper memorials when I get home. Those photos "left over" need to have memorials created for them.

Please re-think you wishes about your own photos. I see some others feel the same way...some even copyright them! Canadagenweb is really bad. One or two on it put a nasty white/clear X in the middle. What good does that do anyone?! You can't even read the dates & complete names.

I guess some people kind of miss the "volunteer" part of both websites.

Another one that get me up and going is the person who says, "it's my memorial...I'll do it my way"! No, it's not. It's the memorial whose name is at the TOP not at the BOTTOM.

Enough..my blood pressure can't take it LOL

Children of Mary Louisa Miller Carlton
I see and appreciate the document and comment you uploaded here:

Conzora Carlton

I'm beginning to realize how difficult a matter it is to determine the father of Mary's children who were born after her husband Finley P. Carlton died, the date of which I have as 18 Mar 1863 from his Find A Grave memorial and the document you uploaded.

One item I've been investigating, without success, is the question of whether Mary's daughter Martha R. Carlton, age 3 in the 1880 Census (family name recorded as Colton), is the same person as Martha Rebecca Green, Find A Grave #52623209. Many seem to think so, but I haven't found proof. As you may know, MRG's death certificate at her Find A Grave memorial lists her father as William Green, but unfortunately her mother is not listed.

Perhaps Mary never married again after Finley died and her last three (?) children were born out of wedlock because they are listed as Carlton ("Colton") in the 1880 Census. And perhaps the father of at least one of them is a William Green.

Mary's listing as a widow in 1880 is from Finley's death, I assume, but I suppose it is possible that she married a second time to someone who died before 08 Jun 1880.

Any thoughts or comments appreciated. Thanks! Bill

RE: Mary Tamer Miller Cook
Thanks for your quick, detailed and very helpful reply. I think I have a handle now on the children of Calvin and Camilla, thanks to you.

I should know more about the flood and I'm going to read about on-line. Thanks for mentioning it.

Oops, I see now that Tamer is not Camilla, but still interested in who Tamer is. Thanks.

"Tamer"
Interested in the 10-person family photo you uploaded to memorial #63497813.

Who is "Tamer?" Is that a nickname? She looks like a matriarch in the photo so I'm wondering if she is Camilla C. Greene Miller?

Also, who is "Men" in the back row?

Thanks for any response. I've been wading through many of your Find A Grave contributions the past few days. Thanks for all your great work and happy holidays!

Bill S.

(Alfred Squire Miller and Jane Copeland are my GGGG-grandparents through their daughter Mary Louisa Miller.)

You posted a picture on this memorial, but you did not indicate who was in the photograph - could you please tell me who the individuals are?

Thanks.

Sandra, you asked me to get Sarah Jane to her first husband, but who is that? I don't remember all the lines usually except for my direct line.

I found his memorial, but not sure what you want me to do. Siblings cannot be linked unless we both link the parents.

The inscription is already listed on the memorial. I will be glad to add the links to his parents if you can give me the memorial numbers.

I don't know if I failed to reply on the above? The photo of Mr. Waters registration card with military does not mean he was in the service. I post this only as part of his history. Thanks

Edit request - C. P. Saunders
I received a message to link C. P Saunders 104118653 to his wife Nancy Lipford, but you did not provide a memorial number for Nancy, and I can't find her. Please use the "edit" tab on C.P. Saunders' memorial page and select "Relationship (parent and spouse links)" and enter her memorial number so that the edit can be processed.

I posted the links of his parents as an edit to his memorial but they won't appear until the "owner" of his memorial approves them. I hope you realize that you could have made the edits yourself or asked the owner to link them. I didn't mind doing it but you took the long way around to get it accomplished. Thanks!

Pictures added to memorials
Thank you for adding the picture of the Mountain View Baptist Church to the memorial for my great grandfather William W. Greene. Your picture of this original church is a better picture than the one that I took with an old box camera around 1955. My mother attended this church with her parents, her siblings, her grand parents, many cousins, aunts and uncles. Those were probably the "good old days".

Archibald Greene # 112764885
Archibald is my 3rd Great Grandfather. I would like for him to have a headstone but I live in Georgia. I am going to have to have someone from the cemetery to verify that this is an unmarked grave. I also have to have someone that will accept delivery of the headstone. It will be an individual's responsibility to get the headstone to the cemetery and have it placed. There are a lot of signatures involved in this and I think this may be a lot harder than I thought to get processed.

RE: Archibald Greene # 112764885
I am not a relative of Arch Green or member of a SCV unit. I did a little research for Diana Boland. I sent her the form and procedures to obtain a VA stone, if she is a direct descendant or knows who is. Rick

I am not sure which pictures you mean. I only posted one picture that I got from Michael Phillips and I gave him credit. The other pictures that are there were posted by other people.
