|Brenda & Pete||Katherine Fenstermaker - Gate of Heaven Cemetery|
We went to Gate of Heaven Cemetery today to take photos to fulfill requests. We could not fulfill your request for a photo of Katherine Fenstermaker's marker as she is not buried in this cemetery. She is buried with her husband in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. They both have memorials, with photos, on Find A Grave. Katherine's memorial number is 90920608 and Ward's is 90920194.

|Anne042068||Margaret Motes Fenstermaker|
Hello again. Guess what? I FOUND a record for Margaret Motes, my g-g grandmother, who in fact DID marry a Fenstermaker after her husband Peter Motes died in 1864. (See previous message to you) She married Jonathan Fenstermaker on 7 Jan 1872. Jonathan must have died before 1880, because Margaret is listed on the 1880 census as Margaret Motes, a widow, along with her youngest daughter, Matilda Motes, my g-grandmother. (I'm assuming that Margaret and Jonathan did not divorce, but rather that he died.) And they (Margaret and Matilda) are boarding with another family. I have no idea who Jonathan Fenstermaker is, except he is related to George Fenstermaker (66999304), Margaret's son in-law. Perhaps he is George's older brother. The mystery is partly solved, but I am wondering who Jonathan is. Do you know any Jonathan Fenstermakers who would have been born say from about 1820-1835 from Hancock county in Ohio? This requires further research- thanks for any help you might have...still wondering if there are any records for Zion Bloom Cemetery in Vanlue.

|Anne042068||Margaret Motes Fenstermaker in Zion Bloom Cemetery in Ohio|
My ancestor, Margaret Wagner Motes (Moats) husband was Peter Motes (Find A Grave#69399791) who is buried in Zion Bloom Cemetery. He died in 1864. Margaret and Peter's daughter Mary had married George Fenstermaker. They also are buried at Zion Bloom Cemetery (Find A Grave # 69551810 & 66999304). After Peter died, the story is that Mary talked her mother (Margaret) into marrying one of her husband's relatives, a Fenstermaker. And Margaret Moats (Fenstermaker?) is suppose to be buried at Zion Bloom as well. I have been unable to find any records on this. Nor was I able to find a headstone with Margaret's name on it when I visited the cemetery a few years ago. And unfortunately there don't seem to be any cemetery records. I did establish a memorial for Margaret (#121656232). Margaret was born about 1822 and died I am guessing about 1880. I am wondering if you have any information on who Margaret might have married? Are there any burial records for Zion Bloom Cemetery in Vanlue, Ohio? Perhaps George's father, older brother, or an uncle? I'd love it if you happened to have any information that could help me with this story. Thanks. Anne in Wisconsin

Hi! You're very welcome! I'm happy to help! I just found Wallace and Jennie's daughter Grace Graham. Would you like her and her husband Paul Graham transferred to you? Also, I was wondering if you would be willing to do me a big favor and place photo requests for the remaining Fenstermakers that I have photos for? It would really help me out a lot! Let me know if you would like Paul and Grace transferred to you. I will also let you know if I come across any other Fenstermakers. Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!

|P T||RE: Mary C. Fenstermacher|
I was questioning Mary C. Fenstermacher (1867-1937)in Lehigh County, Allentown,Pa. I was wondering if you knew who she was married to? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing. The reason I'm asking is because a lot of people are putting this Mary with Grove Fenstermacher on their family tree, but I know they have the wrong Mary. So I was just curious to know if this Mary Fenstermacher had a spouse or who her parents are?
Grove and Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) Murray Fenstermacher did have another daughter, Florence (Fritz) Fenstermacher Johnson (1888-1974) who married Joseph Lloyd Johnson and moved to Ohio, but I don't have any idea as to where they were buried in Ohio. I'm also trying to find out who Mary Elizabeth Murray Fenstermacher parents are. Do you have information on her side of the family?

|P T||Mary C. Fenstermacher|
Do you know who Mary C. Fenstermacher married? My great great grandmother was Lizzie Murray Fenstermacher who married Grove Fenstermacher. They were married in 1889 and lived in Catawissa Pa. Groves father was Peter and Peter's father was Daniel. Daniel's father was Phillip and he was the twin brother to Conrad Fenstermacher. Anyway, a lot of people have your Mary as his wife on their family tree. Do you have any information that can confirm this?

I'm 100% sure I posted that picture.. as I have checked, I have quite a few pictures missing that I know I have posted. I suppose Find A Grave has a glitch that deletes pictures.

You're in luck! Wallace (1884-1973) is there with his wife Jennie (1886-1966) and they are buried next to Charles (1918-1989). Also there's a Randolph D. Fenstermaker, born and died April 8, 1960. I think that's all of them! I did take close-up pictures of the names of Milton and Ruth's names for reference. Ruth's middle initial is A. and she is still living so only has her birth date on the stone. I didn't plan on returning to the cemetery anytime soon because I photographed every stone and it's a bit of a drive from my house, but I'll see what I can do! I may not be able to return until Spring, but we'll see! I hope you have a wonderful day!

JMartin, you are very welcome. Next to Solon is NELLIE 1898. There is no Find A Grave memorial for her so I didn't upload her grave marker photo. Would you like her record created and a photo?

These were pictures my grandma had. Lyda jane was my grandmothers aunt, so I'm sure she would have known her own aunt. This has been pointed out to me before, but I don't have any doubt that's who the picture really is. Thanks, though.

I found George Hause's marker, but did not find the two infant sons. I have asked the township for some assistance with the Hause infants and Frazier. It just may take a while. I did walk the complete cemetery so I think there may not be any markers at all.
