Re: Sarah Lavina Hightower Logan
Hello Frank,
In Edith Catharine Hightower Kirkham's family picture that was posted here on her page, I see her mother, Fairosina Arabelle Smith, who is my GGG Grandmother. Can you tell me if Edith's sister, Sarah Lavina Hightower Logan, My GG Grandmother, is in this picture? If she is, could you tell me which one she is? I cannot find a picture of Sarah, so it would be great to see what she looks like :-) Thanks!

RE: Oliphant Family
I went to Will J Oliphant's memorial and did not recognize any of the people in the photo. Are you a relative to the OLIPHANT's?

RE: James A Cameron Find A Grave Memorial# 33373315
Thanks for responding. James A. Cameron is my 4th Great-Grandmother child. Mary Hightower born about October 22, 1818, died February 1, 1886, is my 4th Great-Grand Mother. Caswell Simons/Simmons was Mary Hightower previous husband. Her second marriage was to William Cameron, born 1815, died 1888. Therefore, I'm not related to the father (William Cameron) of James Cameron. So I pick up research starting with James Cameron and descendants. Thanks for the newspaper information

Regarding Angle - Angel...often engraving mistakes are not corrected. Many people look at the stone and read it as it was intended.

Hello, Frank: I spend time every day indexing local records and posting information to help researchers find their Vernon County family connections...with there were more hours in a day and days in a week! Glad you have found more of your family here.

Barnabus Horton??
No, sorry--he does not appear in any of our materials. Old Matthias came straight from England to Schuyler Co. with a couple of bros between 1840 and 1850. Their parents were Joseph and Jane Hadden Horton--from Welford,North Hamptonshire.
Do those names appear in your lists?

Hale Cem
Cool, thanks, Frank. That is not far from White Oak Cem. where Richard's Dunlavy and Pickenpaugh rels are. Ansel is the father of one of Richard's HS friends.

Frank--is it possible that the date on the marker for Elizabeth Hale recorded here is incorrect? The 1850 census has her living with her father James and step-mother Charlotte and is listed as age 27.

RE: Elizabeth Stinnett Webb
I'm curious about the Stinnett stone as Mr. Cuthbertson transcribed all the tombstones in the cemetery about 1970 and it doesn't show up on his list. That's odd. Do you remember where it was and I will look next time I'm out there (after the snow is gone next week hopefully).

I have been unable to locate a grave site for her. She is not listed in our City Cemetery book, nor is she listed in Mr. Cuthbertson's tombstone inscription book which was made of all tombstones in Girard Cemetery up to 1970. No one by that name purchased a lot in the cemetery during the time frame of her death either. My best guess would be she is buried on a private lot on a family farm, or something similar. It is possible she is buried in the Girard Cemetery, but there is no record of her being there. So sorry I could not help.
