Phoebe Winkleman Werts
Hi,
I have asked a volunteer to take a photo of Phoebe and husband Abraham Werts, and he reports searching the entire cemetery and not finding them. Could you double check your records and see if there is any other information about their burials? Her death certificate places her here but they are sometimes wrong.

Thank you!
Leslie

Do yuou know if Susannah Hassinger and Susannah Brechbill is the same person? I have not been able to verify for certain that the Susannah Hassinger in my tree married a Brechbill. Thanks for all your work on this great site.

RE: Emma Jane Taylor Huff
If you want a better photo in the Spring, just put in another photo request, and I can maybe get a better pic. The cemetery is a short distance from where I eat breakfast. I looked for Eli S Huff, but his marker was not where it was supposed to be according to my notes. Good luck in your research.

Elias Huff
In my 2007 survey of East Harrisburg Cemetery, I have Emma Jane Huff in my notes, with the inscription "Mother" on her marker, but no note of Elias Huff being next to her. I only read grave markers, so it's possible he's in an unmarked grave. Unfortunately much of East Harrisburg Cemetery is currently covered in snow, so the flat markers are hidden from view by some pretty icy stuff.

Interestingly there is an Eli S Huff in another section of the cemetery born in 1881, who could possibly be a son? Ane there is an Elias Huff (19310246) in the Harrisburg Cemetery [1838-1892]. And another Eli S Huff [1834-1879] in Highspire Cemetery.

You are welcome. I photographed this cemetery several years ago, and it's a shame that it's such a mess. Kathy

No, I am no relation. I always take photos of any other family members in the same area fir just this reason. Many times I find family members who no one even knew had existed. Just glad to help people find their family.

There are THREE Emme Sheetz' listed as I now see, including Cora (listed TWICE). Check the other listing for the corresponding dates on the photo! Sorry about my mix-up though!

As the photo is the published property of someone else, I cannot post it. But will get up there to take one, when the snow melts.

I'm still trying to get over there to hack thru the briars to get some headstone photos, while the leaves are off the trees. But wanted you to know that I found a photo someone else took of her headstone in the 1990's in a historical society cemetery booklet. The stone was very readable 23 years ago. It has a diamond cutout with a rosebud engraved on it above her name.

Not related to the Halifax Rudys, but I know of them. I'll delete the posting I put on Geiger for Catherine when I added that cemetery today. So that the one you then moved over from Zion to Geiger for her is the only one.
If you find you are related to anyone else in that tiny cemetery, just ask and I'll transfer the memorial over to you!

Catharine Enterline Miller FOUND!
She is in Geigers, which was not on Find A Grave before today. It is a tiny farm cemetery on private land and totally lost to the overgrown bushes and forest along the old farm fields. I am copying Alice Stroh's 1960's records of this cemetery into Find A Grave right now. Likely her husband Christian was the son or grandson of one of the daughters of the Christian Geiger born in 1783, who is also buried here. A friend of mine played in that cemetery many decades ago when he was young. We might just have to see if there is a way to get into it, when all the leaves are gone, and see if there are any legible headstones left.

I live with 2-3 miles of that cemetery and the other 3 small cemeteries in Mid. Pax. township area. I have been photographing the pre 1940's graves in each, plus 2 or 3 cems. in Halifax where my ancestors are buried. Will keep an eye out for yours and alert you if I find something. Glad to try to help.

Re your photo request: I could not find her headstone, nor one for a Christian Miller---however there IS a pyramid shaped monument like you described. But the names on it, though similar, are not exactly the same. It is for Christian and Catherine Gerbach. Perhaps she is in another cemetery in Dauphin? I posted photos of this stone a few minutes ago. I can look again on a sunnier day, but there are only 2 tall pyramid type stones with names on 3 sides in this tiny cemetery. The other one is for Bailey.

RE: Marshall's Bible
What great information you have with the Marshall bible. It appears that I might have to communicate with Nathan Towne who created Alma Wagner's memorial, and linking it to John and Barbara Marshall. But, before I do, is it possible that you can come up with an obituary for Alma Gunster? Obviously, the birth/death dates for Alma Wagner doesn't coincide with that of Alma Gunster and your bible.
Thanks,
Jim & Vicki

Marshall's Bible
Deborah,
You did a great job with adding the bible pages. It was very interesting and contained much information. Just check notes at bottom of bible page with Annie's name, 1816 s/b 1876.
It will be interesting to locate the whereabouts of the Marshall's first born, Mary.

Thanks very much,
Jim & Vicki
