Hi Scott,
Please send sources next time as this was rather confusing and took some time to figure out and source that Mary was married twice. (No explanation was sent and Mary is listed under her first married name.)

I appreciate the updates and edits that you do!! We just need the sources for accuracy please. (These ones have been done.)

Thanks for your continued work in making factual, sourced memorials!

Thanks for the info on Child Reeder
Thank you, it does appear the info you found would be for this child, so I have added it to the memorial.

Filumena "Minnie" Liekhus
Scott, how far are you from Cedar Rapids, NE? I believe this record is incorrect for both parents. I think her maiden name is Peitzmeier and that she is linked to her step father and his first wife instead of her real folks. If Ebbers is on the stone, then I'm wrong but think her mother was Anna Marie Ebbers but before she was she was still Anna Marie Kassmeier Peitzmeier and her father was Herman Peitzmeier. When her mother married Meinolph after Herman died, that's when Ebbers got attached to her. I would be willing to manage this and fix some of it, as Meinolph, Herman, Anna Marie, and Rosina are my great grandparents. Most important is I would like to get this picture to see if Ebbers is on the stone. I have tons of record on everyone but can't find much on Minnie. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I agree. I will ask if a couple of my brothers can please stop by BeechWoods; they usually go hunting at the old Crawford farm(belonged to Mary Amanda's son James Elliot and his wife Elise Turner)in November. Hopefully, they can still read the stone after all of this time. can be such a tease with what newspapers they put up; not much for Jefferson County:-(... Thanks again for your help; it's nice to find a cousin who is also interested in shaking the family tree. Edna

Did you take the photo or write the memorial for my ancestor, Lewis Theodore DeClerk? Are you a volunteer or perhaps in this family tree?

RE: Wm B Rishell question on wife and child
Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I couldn't remember where I had put this info...This list by Ray Chatfield at Rootsweb is the only thing I have had to go by re: Mary Amanda and her family; I have never been able find any 'paperwork' to verify if this is the correct lady..but if you say that you have talked to someone who has seen a Bible entry, that is 'Fantastic-to quote the Doctor'... Thanks again, Edna

Hi Scott,
You had added a photo of the temporary marker for this memorial. I have now added a photo of the new headstone along with creating a memorial for her husband, Clarence.

RE: Ellen McCrann
Scott: I am working on a family tree that contains an Ellen McCrann from Louisville, KY. That is where some of this conflicting information comes from.

I am trying to figure out if the Louisville person is the same as the Omaha person. Do you know what the maiden name of the Omaha Ellen McCrann is?

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Scott ~ I made the correction for Rachel Calvert and can't tell you how very grateful I am that you so generously shared this info.

You stated: According to her funeral notice in the Omaha newspaper Mrs. Calvert was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.

Is there any possobility of getting a copy of that obit? ~ Jo C

Thanks for transferring. I will attempt to identify his children. I think my great grandmother, Mary Jane May McDonald, raised one of them.

Dan Turner
Thomas May, Memorial No. 99880432
Dear Scott, I'm submitting an edit for his birth date and place. He was 8 months old and born in Iowa, according to the 1860 Census for Olive Township, Clinton County, Iowa. Thus I'm estimating he was born in December 1859. Thomas's parents, Timothy and Mary Tobin May, and Thomas's grandparents, immigrated from Ontario, Canada, in the late 1850s. The Mrs. McDonald in the newspaper article is my great grandmother, Mary Jane May McDonald, who lived at the 3632 Parker St. address.

If you wish, feel free to transfer management of the memorial.

Thank you to transferring the three Morton memorials to me.

RE: Francis Morton
Scott, Francis Morton's mother was Catherine Brady who was my 2nd great aunt as HER father, John Brady (1827-1905) was my 2nd great grandfather.

So unless you are more direct relative, you can transfer his memorial to me.

I'm not a family member, either. I do some FG research in Woodford Co, IL, and lately I've been going through old parish records. I don't know where the parents are, but some of Joseph's siblings are in El Paso, IL.

reply to edit request
Scott, You are not coming across as polite. Find a grave gives me 30 days to process a request. From their manual-

"What if I suggest a correction and the contributor doesn't respond?
Have patience. Many contributors receive hundreds of corrections every month and it may take a while for your correction to be processed. Also, not every Find A Grave contributor is active on a daily basis on the site. Please send the source and documentation with your 'suggest a correction'. If you have suggested a correction and waited longer than thirty days for it to be processed or if you have found a contributor who you believe to be permanently inactive, please send the correction (forward the 'suggest a correction' that you sent) to along with source and documentation, and we will edit the memorial on their behalf."

I have told you that my intention is to research the matter further. I am requesting you to be patient and give me a chance to do that. Have a nice day. Iris

And sometimes, it creates a second link to the spouse. Identical. It drives me nuts. I spend a lot of time correcting errors made by the system. I imagine that you do, too. Good interfacing with you.

The automatic edit fills in the spaces which are already in use. It should work if you do not touch any information which you do not want to change. Usually.

The system worked a lot better before it got more complicated.

That is an interesting article. Thanks for sending it. I have updated his memorial.
