RE: Photo request
Thanks so much Ed. Millard was my father and it took 59 years to find him. I was adopted as a baby and through Ancestry DNA I was able to make the connection.
I appreciate your helping me with my request as there is no one left in his family.

RE: Photo request
Dear Edward,
I'm sorry about that, but it wasn't from me. Must've been a request from Find-A-Grave. You may want to disable email notifications about photo requests. I realize this is all volunteer on our part.
Take care,

RE: Jane Bovard Barker
Her dates are wrong. The OBIT was in the paper 2 Mar 1893.

RE: Jane Bovard Barker
If one of my memorials does not have a photo of a cemetery marker then the information came from an OBIT. This one does not have a marker. You said you changed the death year. Were you positive of the year? That said I cannot possibly check ALL the data that people send me so I have to go with what they send ... unless it is my family which Jane is not.
What year was listed before you changed it. I can see if I can relocate the OBIT.
Also would you like a transfer.

Peleg Thurston

Since my source for parents is right from the Rhode Island Historical Cemeteries , the parents I have listed will remain.

RE: Find-A-Grave Rules
You cannot demand respect, you have to earn it.

You've been an Find A Grave volunteer for 38 months and have only created 38 memorials. Yet you manage 3 times that number of memorial. You couldn't find a little time in the last 38 months to create a few memorials for other people to use? It's painfully obvious from you statistics, that you are relying on the good will of other volunteers to do the leg work for you.

Maybe you should try "paying it forward" before you demand a transfer someone who spends thousands of hours volunteering on this site.

I have over 9,000 relatives in my family tree, and I've never demanded that anyone transfer a memorial to me. Can you imagine the pissing contest if I took your attitude towards all of the volunteers that have created memorials for my relatives? Instead, I trust in their competency and integrity to complete edit requests and SACs in a timely and accurate manner.

You should try using Virtual Cemeteries for the purpose they were intended.

If you put as much effort into volunteering as you do into whining when you don't get your way, you might earn some respect.

"Just saying!"

My request to remove Senior from Edward was declined. So you will have to plead your case directly.
Glad things are correct from my end.

I hope this is correct. Check the memorial and let me know. I also submitted a suggested edit for Edward. We'll see what happens.

hi Ed :)
How are you related to Elizabeth, I transfer past the second generation - stupid rule in my opinion as long as it is your relative :)

And no no photo, I have some very old books which listed her as John wife and that she was buried here. Looks like the stone Daryl found for the hubby was flat on its back which makes them more than difficult to see, I don't know if she was included on it or not, as a graver who has returned to the site ( like me) you know how that goes. Reassure me you are a relative and I am happy to send Miss Elizabeth to family !

you will have to get in touch with contributor #47533540 -- he (or she) is the one who submitted the photos -- I cannot change them, would you like me to transfer the memorial to you?

Albert Milliken
Hi, I sent you a message on Albert's memorial. Turns out the Albert I was looking for was a different person all together, only realized when I found his bio that he gave to the American Institute of Architects. My Albert was born in 1900. Still curious about the connection between him and his mother, father, and brother. You have William Milliken's memorial showing him as both father and sibling to Albert, and as Williams mother's son (she would have been 66 when she gave birth). I'm wondering if William's mother adopted Albert since he was only 3 when his father died. Just curious! Sorry for the confusion :)

Annie Smith Thurston
To try to satisfy my curiosity, I went back to the cemetery to see the physical locations of the three Thurston stones. I found that the Annie Smith Thurston stone appears to be a footstone. So it looks like the two Annies are indeed the same person. I have added two photos to the Annie Smith Thurston memorial so you can see for yourself how the stones are related.

Since the two Annies are the same person, I am transferring the other Annie to you. You may delete whichever one you want.

I've transferred the other Thurstons to you. I'm a little curious about the Annie Smith Thurston...could she be the same Annie S Thurston that I transferred? They have the same year of birth, and your Annie S Thurston does not have a date of death on the family stone. The Vincent cemetery is rather small, and it seems strange there would be two Annie Thurstons, one with a middle initial of S, and one with what I assume would be a maiden name of Smith, with the same birth year. It is a puzzle.

RE: Charles Thurston
I transferred Charles Thurston to you. I also transferred the memorial for his wife whose name is also on his headstone. Are any of the other Thurstons in that cemetery related? I'd be happy to transfer them also if they are.

Your Dad's Page
Ed: I made the transfer & gave your Dad's memorial page this evening. It is easier to have only one page for a person. You now can add, correct, edit, etc. anything on his page. Please check your family. I'll give over to you any other person who I've entered into the system who you'd like to have to edit. Just let me know.
