Hi..I saw your post to Lucy re: the Northumberland Cemetery requesting information. Was she able to provide it to you? What is the name of the Viet Nam soldier buried there that you're looking for? I might be able to help if she hasn't already.

Fred Santoro
Roger Lee Scott
Hello. My father was an 11th ACR aeroscout pilot from September 1969 - September 1970 and was best friends with Roger Lee Scott who was KIA in 1970.

I am looking for any information from people who might have flown with Alfred Santoro or Roger Lee Scott, or know anything about them. I am currently writing a book based on my father's memoirs, and would love to hear from people who flew with him, as well as get a copy to Scottie's family.

Thanks you.

Allen,

Sorry it took so long. I applaud your project. The photo is now added to the memorial you created. Have you contacted the person who created the duplicate memorial?

RE: Mt. Zion Memorial Garden
I do know the exact location of the cemetery. When you get into Due West, you will need to look for Due West Family Medicine (Dr's office. At the dr's office you are going to turn left (at the crossroads, old gas station is on the corner advertising a greek and Italian restaurant coming soon). You will turn towards the gas station. Stay straight until you come to the masonic lodge on left. The cemetery is behind the lodge. Email me the dates of when you are going to be in town and I will be glad to further assist you. Thanks, RBA

Hi Allen,
Yes... Northumberland Cemetery and Groveton Cemetery are both the same place, that is why I mentioned in my description of the cemetery that both signs are still there. The Groveton Cemetery sign is older, because I believe it was originally called that. The old death records have used both names which has confused many people.

Groveton is actually the name of the "village" within the large Northumberland area. They are all the same place. There is no Northumberland town... it is Groveton. The address description of the cemetery is just Route 3, Coos County, Northumberland.

You can give Find A Grave the address and a version of the description I gave you before and also the map coordinates so they will attach a map to the page.

Hi Allen,

Northumberland Cemetery is approximately 6.5 miles north of the Lancaster Fair Grounds on Route 3, just past the railroad tracks. It is beside the historic Potter Farm, which was the location of Fort Wentworth built in 1755 and used until 1872. It is one of the largest cemeteries in Coos County, probably rated as the 2nd largest.

At the entrance is the Northumberland Cemetery sign and as you drive through the gates there is the old Groveton Cemetery sign.

The map coordinates to the entrance are 44.58127 -71.5335

Hope this helps.

Shirley
