Bogart and Cave Families

I've just recently added the Bogart and Cave families to my on-gong research.

I've noticed you have several memorials that I SO appreciate finding. I hope you won't mind that I posted a pic of Carl Bogart and his wife Illene; as well as a few death certificates I've found.

I've read some of your posts and I echo your sentiments, and I REALLY appreciate the fact that you allow the free use of your gravestone pics.

What a generous soul you are.

THANKS for all you do/have done for FIND A GRAVE.
It is truly APPRECIATED.

Callarman family
I added photos of the John and Olive Southwick Callarman plot in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL. I wanted to let you know I also added listings for the other two daughters, Mildred and Effie, who had not been entered yet. His sister, Nannie Evans, is also buried in this plot.

RE: Alice Southwick
You're quite welcome. I'll look for the stones of the Callermans next week. I don't seem to have a photo of them (I had already photographed that Block) but perhaps I missed them or it may be that their graves are unmarked.

I was happy I could help, but I'm always disappointed if the information isn't on the stone. Father & Mother are nice, but at least a name shows who they are. Too bad with that beautiful stone their names & information weren't added. :( I love when family can be linked and more about them added, as time allows I do my best to add what I can find, but love if family can add personal touches. RE: Dora Cramer's Brick
Hello John, you are most welcome and I do understand your disappointment that there was no marker. I feel it too when there is no headstone or marker when I am working to fulfill a photo request.

I give many thanks to the Arroyo Grande Community Cemetery crew who are so helpful to ensure i get the photos and information needed. They make every effort to locate a missing marker, ensure that the plot and section of burial is correct and drive me (via golf cart) to each burial site, provide shade with the cart when the sun casts harsh light on a marker.

A question for you ~ Is Dora Cramer a relative of yours? If so, if it's important to you that she has a proper marker, for you, I would ask the cemetery manager the best way to go about it.

This volunteer work is my delight because I meet kind, understanding people like you.

Warmest regards,

RE: Dora Cramer's Brick
The cemetery manager dug where a marker or former brick should have been. None was found so a brick was painted and put in place today. To Dora's memorial I added the section and plot numbers and GPS coordinates.

There are various reasons some burial sites do not have gravestone. I'm told that often times families are unable to provide for the additional coast of a stone and hope to have one installed later, and never do. Of course a headstone or marker can be purchased and installed at anytime. The cemetery installs them at no charge.

Thank you so much for the edits! I am so sorry I did not see them sooner -- apparently Find A Grave no longer sends emails when there are edits requested. I will be happy to transfer this memorial to you if you would like, since I am not related. Just let me know.

Samuel Cummins
There is a photo of Samuel Cummins' tombstone on the Harvey County Genealogical Society web site. You might want to contact them for permission to use it on Find A Grave. If not, I'll go back and look for it again. I didn't find the site myself the other day, but it was raining, so I'll use that as an excuse! LOL!

You're welcome. Please take good care of them. And my old Pentagon office suffered smoke and water damage. So glad I had moved on and so glad your family wasn't hurt either. Merry Christmas, MA
