Nola
I never knew she taught Sabbath School, but I find it interesting because I believe that you, along with your sister, were my Sabbath School Teachers. Nola is finally home with the Lord, where she has longed to be. I am happy for her, and take solace in the knowledge that we shall meet again up there one day.

Martha Mary Powell
Hi Ruth. In your message a few years ago on this site you mentioned you are descended from this woman, who was the daughter of Caleb Powell and Dorcas Miles. I am descended from a Jacob C. Powell who I believe was your Martha's brother. Have you seen him in your research as one of their kids?

Also, I am tantalizingly close to finding ancestors of myself and my wife as shooting at each other at the Battle of King's Mountain during the Revolution, with Caleb Powell being on the Loyalist side. Have you come across this? I know there was a Caleb Powell from S. C. in a Loyalist unit and I believe that unit was at that battle but have yet to connect the dots completely.

Should you want to swap info, let me know. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Hello! I am the great great great granddaughter of Cynthia Fields and Thomas Hockaday. I didn't know any of my ancestors going back any further than Laura Hockaday (Hart) (my great great grandmother) before now, so I appreciate this very much! Thank you--guess we are very distant cousins :)

RE: Trobough
I'm not familiar with that name. I did a little bit of research and found a record for a Trobough in Paola Cemetery, but that's all I could find for the area. If I find out any more information, I'll be sure to let you know. Have a good day.

RE: Albert & Frederich Miller
Submit a headstone photo request on both. I'll see if I can't locate their headstones. The information entered to Find A Grave came directly from Machpelah cemetery records.

Best Regards!

RE: McElmurry
I took photos of all the headstones at Oak Hill and these were not there. That doesn't necessarily mean they are not there though. The people who work at Oak Hill are VERY nice and cooperative in answering questions. I suggest you call the office and ask if they are buried there. I'm sure they will be able to tell you one way or the other.
Good luck!
Mona

The data is from an index I created in 1991 from Public Records.

The original records are located in the St Joseph Pulic Libray (Downtown). Originally Recorded by The St Joseph Health Department from 1891 thru 1909. your Joseph Murphey is recorded as MURPHEY, JOSEPH 18 JUN 1907 525

meaning he was the 525th death recorded in 1907.

Other data may be given in the original record, but I don't remember after 21 years. I Did not extract cause of death if it was given

Hi Ruth,
Are you related to these families as well as Robert Ottmers who put up Martha Patsy Miles Ison's memorial?? We are also related she is my husband's 3rd great aunt. He is descended from her brother Dorsey 1816-1876. Do you have a tree on Ancestry.com where we might compare our lines??

RE: George Akles Key
I did see some other Key's that I took pictures of but haven't had a chance to check the site and see if they need added. I took pictures of: Ruby Lee Key Aug. 31, 1916 - Mar. 6 1918; Wm D Key 1907-1918; Roseetee Key 1913-1916; Melvin Key 1921-1979 and his wife is listed Katherine 1927 -

I do remember seeing some Miller's. I go down there about 2 or 3 times a year (I live about an hour West of Dover). My parent's are buried there and many other Corbin relatives. I will look next time I go and take pics.
