Nancy Griffin
Hi Rowland,
Thank you for all of the work you do on Find a Grave. The transfer is all new to me.
Do you have a picture or record of Nancy Griffin being buried at Euharlee Presbyterian?
She and her daughter Lavina Vesta Griffin Freeman were both Methodists and buried at "Euharlee" according to their Obits.
They are both on Find a Grave at Euharlee Presbyterian Cemetery.
Thanks for your help,
Mary Ransom

Thank you so very much for your time in doing this for me. This is the first time I have actually got to see her grave. Although I have been back to Cary many times I have never been able to get anyone to take me there.

Patricia Poor
Nancy Griffin
Hello, I just joined Findagrave and was delighted to get my first requests for a cemetery near me. I found 7 of the 8 and took photos. The one I couldn't find was Nancy Griffin, in the Euharlee Presbyterian Cemetery in Euharlee, Georgia. My son and I walked the entire cemetery with no luck finding any Griffins. HOWEVER, we did discover that next to the church cemetery (and obviously part of it from long ago) was a cemetery filled with 333 discovered locations of burials of black (formerly referred to as 'colored') people. There were no stones at all there, but the Euharlee Historical Society searched the land, located the graves, marked them with small wooden crosses, marked a path from one end to another, and erected a stone memorial. I have photos of the wooded area, the crosses, the path, and the stone memorial.

Is it possible that Nancy Griffin was black? If so or if not, please advise me and I will be glad to return and investigate further.

Thank you, Patricia Poor (

RE: Fountain
David B Fountain was the brother to my Great, great, great grandfather= Anderson Augustus Fountain Sr. On Nov 16th, we had a dedication ceremony at Bluewater Cemetery, in Dublin, for a memorial headstone for Anderson. A couple of weeks ago, we started a Facebook page ('William Fountain descendants') for all of William Fountain's (1788-1873) kin. If you get a chance, please join us. And tell all your kin. :) :)
And thank you very much for the use of your photos. :)

You're very welcome. Let me know if you need anything else in this area.

Hi Rowland,

IF you are out anyhow, in any cemetery of Bleckley County, GA - HART and DIXON will be related.

The families were huge - 9 to 13 or more children in almost all of them, so some infant and young child graves and almost any adult,

Thank you so much, this is my late husband's maternal grandfather's linage, and has been difficult to track.

RE: Tony Rowland

I just transferred the memorial to you. Glad to do so. This cemetery is located on the southeastern outskirts of Macon, GA. I'm not sure if you're from the area or not, so I'll give directions just in case.

If you're headed east on I-16 out of Macon, get off at exit 6 (also the Golden Isles Highway exit). This is the last exit for Macon before crossing into the next county. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp, follow Ocmulgee East Blvd (also Golden Isles Highway, Highway 87, 23, and 129) to Marion Road. Marion branches off to your left. Follow Marion back over/under I-16. Andrews Cemetery is just past that. The cemetery is not marked, to my knowledge. You will see a single monument though, which is taller than the other graves. When I stopped last autumn, it was so overgrown I didn't realize there were a couple of hundred graves there until I got out and started walking. However. Tony's grave is located in the rear of the cemetery, in a wooded area, and it is less overgrown back there. Just an FYI, there is a gun range further down the road, and if you're out walking the cemetery you will occasionally hear gunshots. I would rather forewarn people of that before they get there and hear them!

Happy to link his parents. Is this by chance a relative of yours? If you would like me to transfer his memorial to you, I would be happy to do so. I didn't know anyone in the cemetery - I was trying to document it as best I could because it was so overgrown.
