Porter Family Shedd, OR
I am a descendent of the Porters of Shedd, OR, and am interested in others of the family It seems to be slowly disappearing, like the former farm and ranch properties of the family. I appreciate any response.

RE: Bertie Gilbert
I thought at first that you might be referring to Gilbert C. Thomas. I always thought J.B. and Lura had just five children, but this weekend my mother told me that there was indeed a sixth child who died very young, who fitted between Clyde and Claude, who I knew nothing about until just yesterday. The little boy's name was Claire Burton Gilbert. He was born in 1877 or 1878 in Peoria, Linn County, Oregon and died in 1879 or 1882. we don't have any definite dates for him. My mom says that Claudia Gilbert Marshall (memorial # 80671643) had a photo of the child in a photo album at one time, but by the time Claudia passed away and my mother inherited the album, the photo was missing from the album.

Harris Watts was Irena Diantha (Watts) Gilbert's twin. He died of an illness in his twenties while in college. I have a poor quality photo of Irena and Harris posted at Irena's memorial. I think my mom may have a better photo of him. I would have already created a memorial for Harris, but I don't feel that I have his information solid enough yet to build a decent memorial. If you wish to take a photo of his stone, I can set up a partial memorial with the info I have, but the memorial will probably need some tweaking later on. Neither my mom nor I know who Zeruah Opp is. Might be related or might not.

Charlotte White
You're very welcome. Unfortunately, both Charlotte and her husband James' grave sites are unknown. It is believed they are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, but no records of their burials exist.

RE: Diantha Holmes
I searched for Diantha Holmes in Vermont Vital Records. Unfortunately many of the records in Swanton/St. Albans were lost during the early 1800's to mid 1800's. What was her father's name?, are you sure he maiden name was Holmes? Who did she marry. Col. Benj. Holmes and his brother Stephen Holmes family(s) lived in that area and so she may be a granddaughter.

Rebecca Ellis
Anna Kerstetter
I went to Newman Cemetery this morning and snapped a photo of Anna Kerstetter's marker. Then when I went to fulfill your photo request I saw that there is already a photo on her memorial. Do you want another one posted? My photo is not as good as the one you already have.

Wampler gravestones--Brookfield Cemetery
I just added two Wamplers--Bertha A. and George W.--to Brookfield Cemetery, Massillon, Ohio. Was wondering if you wanted me to transfer management of their memorials to you?

RE: Porters and Haleys
It's a coincidence that I worked on both cemeteries. I went to Pugh/Shedd as I have a couple family members there, but am related to many in Janesville. I have a very, very distant connection to Kate (Haley) Bass in Janesville. But don't know yet if she is connected to your Haley's. Something for me to look into! - Carol

RE: Bertha Lydia Warthorst Woodworth
This was one of the most beautiful graves I've photographed. I didn't even know it was there and I'm been to Mountain a hundred times! If you need help in finding it, let me know. Thank you for the opportunity.
