Clarence Smith #77569967
Dear Rich,
I have looked for years to find my great great grandfather's grave; he is John (Clarence) Smith #77569967. [Imagine trying to find John Smith, but he did go by his middle name later in life, especially when he was an inpatient in the Leavenworth Military Hospital.] I checked with this cemetery a couple of years ago, and they claimed to not have a record of his death or burial. I was told the same thing by the KS Dept of Health Ofc of Vital Statistics. But I see that you found him and took a photo of his gravestone. You might imagine how special this is to me, and I wanted to express my deep appreciation for taking the photo of his gravestone and adding it to his virtual memorial. Pvt John C. Smith served in the volunteer WI infantry during the Civil and descends from 6 Revolutionary War Patriots. Thank you! Laurie

RE: William Dearbor
You had an Uncle that was murdered by Ms Hobbs, too? What was she a hit woman. In the 1920's? lol
I did find the article on the shooting in the Perry Oklahoma Journal. Seems my gr grandfather was shot in an exchange of gunfire between him and Ms Hobbs. Jeesh, in broad daylight in front of a department store. Wonder what that was all about?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my messages.

William Dearbor
I am the great granddaughter of William Dearborn. I see on the bio that he was a "victim" of murder. Can you give me your source or any details?
Marie was his first wife and I am descended through their first child, Lyla Marilyn McCreath nee Dearborn. My grandmother never spoke of her father nor did her sister my great aunt so much is a mystery to us.
Thanks in advance
Noel McCreath-Ray
