Thank you for getting that nice photo of James & Phebe Ulmer's headstone. It was nice as it showed the whole headstone and the inscriptions.

William H. Orbeton - mem. #93135041
West Rockport Cemetery

William married Fannie Blake of St. George, Maine about 19 Jan 1869, as the certificate of marriage was issued on that date (VR of Camden/Rockport, p. 610). He died in West Camden (of course W. Camden became West Rockport, but was still Camden in 1885) according to the Rockland Courier-Gazette, pub. 8 Dec 1885.

The inscription on the gravestone reads:
"My husband how fondly shall thy memory
Be shined within the chambers of my heart!
The virtuous worth was only known to me.
And I can feel how sad it is to part."

I am methodically updating, row by row, the old 1980's survey, of West Rockport Cemetery; I accidentally uploaded William's information then realized you had already done so back in 2012, but since I had some additional information, I thought I would send it along. I would have provided this privately, but you have no private contact.

Providing this information should you wish to update the the memorial and/or open a dialogue with me, as I see we overlap in the midcoast area.

Warm regards,

Cindy DellaPenna

I found the info on a family tree in Ancestry. I looked it over again. They had the marriage and death same date. I could not prove one way of another. I deleted both dates from the memorial for now. Will continue to search

Capt. William Fish
I photographed both stones yesterday, October 18, 2013, and both stones next to Church Fish had been vandalized.

Surprisingly, the stones on either side of my ggg grandparents were untouched.

The Capt. William Fish stone had been repaired and had pins in it and it must have taken a lot of effort to break that one off.

RE: Capt. William Fish
Thanks for doing what you do.

No, I can see that it is not the same stone. We'll have to go over and look and see where you took the pictures. As I recall the William Fish stones were white and all in a row near the road. We'll see if we can find these that you photographed. Perhaps way down back?

Capt. William Fish
I'm a ggg grandson of Capt. William Fish.

I thought the stones were white. Have they been changed? Are there two sets of stones, older and newer? I'm tempted to trot over and see if something has changed since the last time I was there. Am I misremembering?

There couldn't be two Capt. William Fish with approximately the same dates unless they were cousins who both moved to Waldoboro.

As I recall, the stones can be seen from the road. I chanced to see them one day when I was driving by and was amazed to see my ggg grandfather's stone. I never knew where he was buried. As I recall, Church Fish had a stone in the same row.

I think Church Fish had dealings here in St. George. He was prosperous. We used to hear a lot about Church Fish.

OLiver Amsbury and Margaret Wooster
I really appreciate the time you have taken to take all of the pictures and make the Memorials so easily accessible for family members. You transfered to me the care of Oliver Amsbury and his wife Margaret Wooster Amsbury. Thank you once again. I have something else to ask. There are so many Sea views in Maine I actually think that another Family I am looking for may actually be buried there as well.
Robert Beattie and wife Mary Barr in a single Grave in fact perhaps even William Beattie ESQ. The Father of Rosella Beattie who married Oliver Amsbury 1. If that is possible, Wonderful! And Thank you once Again. Michelle Amsbury

Waldoboro Cemetery
Is this the cemetery which seems to be in someone's backyard, by the post office, on a hill, where the front is against a chain link fence and it looks like it is sliding into a ravine?

Where exactly is this cemetery? Is it part of the German Protestant Cemetery? I am confused.

Thanks for your help.

Mink/Mank family
Thank you for posting the many photos of Mink family grave markers.

In your entry on Mary Catherine Mink, you include information on Lewis Mink(b: abt 1823). I am researching the Mink family, and I have conflicting information about Lewis Mink's father. Would you mind sharing the information you have on Lewis and his relationship to Charles Bonaparte Mink?

Thanks again!

Hi,

I finally got around to adding info on the memorials you created (87776488 & 87776717 respectively). Thanks again for creating the memorials, taking the photo and transferring management to me. Because they were my 2nd great grandparents, I was surprised to find that I did not have a lot of information about either. I do have a great photo of them on my ancestry.com MORGAN family tree.

May I have permission to use your photo in my ancestry.com family tree?

Peter
