More mysteries...More work... FUN!

OMG! You are not kidding! When I went to Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland MD everything was different seems like people over there shared a plot if knew someone whose uncle's cousin's neighbor went to grade school with the person that bagged their groceries.

I think those books ought to come with a disclaimer!!

Oh my, I have finished taking pics of SOF and I'm comparing the pics to what's in my Tombstones of Sussex County book, Vol 2 and wow, talk about errors! One thing they did in there that I don't like is that they put SSW for people who were in the same plot, even if they had a a seperate stone all to them selves. I just don't agree with that. I see in my later editions that they came up with the abbreviation for same plot with, which is much more appropriate I think. But some people think books like that are the gosple. UGH!!

I didn't know that the emails for photo requests were that slow going out! Interesting. Regardless, thanks for posting the photo of Sarah Lord's gravestone. Steve Keefe

RE: Mario
Hello, I got this mail, very surprise : Greetings...

We just added 15 'GraveBucks' to your account at Find A Grave! GraveBucks can be used to sponsor individual grave records. Once a memorial is sponsored, there will never be any advertisements on those pages again. We are very happy to provide the sponsorship alternative to our users!

Your current GraveBucks balance is $15. To use your GraveBucks, just go to the memorial you want to sponsor and click the 'remove ads' link right below the person's name...if you are are logged in, you will see a 'GraveBucks' payment option in the sponsorship box! You can always view your GraveBucks balance by going to the 'contributor tools' section of Find A Grave.

Thanks very much for your support of Find A Grave!

RE: Hi
I've found some cemeteries are excellent with maintenance and responding to requests, and a few are terrible (and they have staff). Then there are the ones where they are not maintained. Amazing how fast they go downhill: big holes, vermin, settling, leaning and toppling gravestones. I had a graveyard in Burlington NJ that had some of my mother's ancestors in it, so drove up there to find them. There were no records. The cemetery was in terrible shape but at least it was mowed. Because it was maybe 5% photographed, I spent a day photographing about 900 gravestones and then put them up on Findagrave. Took me months to clean up the photos, create memorials and post the photos and create links. It's like a job!
Thanks for posting Arlington Wall's photo. He and Ella are fairly distant to my wife so they are not a close relationship, but thank you for seeing to it that this gravestone gets some attention! Steve Keefe

RE: Me again lol
Good find, gennie! Sarah Hurd and Thomas Lord are in my wife's genealogy so I added this information about her daughter and son-in-law. I also put in a request for Arlington Walls' gravestone photo, which is the same one you already posted for Ella E Lord. Thanks again! Steve Keefe
