Betty Peery
Nora Ruth Byford
Hi, My name is Betty Pryor Peery and Nora R Byford is my grandmother, my mom is Margie G Pryor. I was intersted in
knowing if you can give me any ideas of how to find out which
school in Denton Texas my grandmother attended. Not sure if
TWU or what was known as Texas Normal Colledge for the educating of teachers to be. She would have attended sometime possibly in 1919 or 1920's before getting married. She was a teacher in Center Texas at one time. The story is that a resident of Center paided her way to school bu have no idea who this person was or the relationship. Any way my sister lives in Denton Texas and tried to find some info but with out success. I'm assuming you added her grave to Find A Grave. I really appreciate that and if you have any suggestions how I might obtain some information about my grandmother's schooling that would be wonderful.

Thank you,
My Family Tree is Pryor/Byford

Mike Maxwell
Carl Ballard's father, Cyrus
I stumbled upon your entries for Carl Ballard, and Fred Herman Ballard, and was wondering if you have any information regarding Cyrus Ballard, 54th OVI. I am helping a friend, Bruce Butler, in the search for Cyrus' final burial location, and have determined that Cyrus' last known location was a hospital in Memphis on November 26, 1862.
If you have any information you would be willing to share, I can be contacted as follows:
All the best,
Mike Maxwell

RE: Susanna Broyles Cornelius Memorial
Not a problem at all. I was lucky I even found it because I've walked by that little piece of stone a dozen times or better lately and never even saw it. I just wish I could have found more of the pieces . It's sad that there's only that little bit left. Not sure if the family means something to you or if you are related, but I also found an Evelyn Cornelius today just off to the left of Susanna and Wm. today. An infant with just a small stone that didn't say anything about her parents.

From looking at the memorial, it looks like my mother got her information right off the stone.

Blessings, Christine (Beverly's daughter)

Susanna Cornelius Davis Cemetery
Hi Vickye,

I found Susanna's stone today. What was left of it anyway. Problem is that the stone was evidently broken into at least a few pieces. I found a piece with most of her info. There's nothing of the first name on it, BUT you can clearly read Cornelius, Aug. 18, 1851 and enough of Dec. 1927 to make it out. And that's all. I went through the cemetery repeatedly and then did a complete circuit of the outside checking all the dump sites for old flowers and such checking for more bits of the stone and I just couldn't find it. The bit of stone I found was lying face down between William and one other Cornelius but there isn't even a base or any sign of disturbance where I found it to tell me whether the stone was actually there or if someone just found the piece and set it by the others with the same surname. Just wanted to let you know the deal before I posted the pic.

My husband mows the cemetery and I love going out with him when I can (only about 2-3 times a year) I am trying to photograph the cemetery, at least whatever is legible.

RE: Ann Anthony Gilbert
Hi Vickye,
I do not have marriage information. I do have birth information on "William Anthony Gilbert" my husband's uncle.

I've been searching but to no luck so far.

Warren Chapin at Monmouth
If Warren Chapin is buried in Ohio, why is he listed in the Monmouth, Illinois Cemetery book with his last wife, Jennie Clement Hobart? You don't have to answer this, I'm just asking myself.

You're a Mayflower Descendant! So am I! None of our families match, though. I am Purmort, Walworth, and Seaton.

William Scurry
Hi! Another Find A Grave member created a memorial and photo request for William Scurry, Jr. which I fulfilled over the weekend. Also there were the following people.

1. William Scurry, 1876 - 1941
2. Margaret Scurry, 1882 - 1962

On the back of the monument it says "McMillan" with the following names.

3. Leona Carroll, 1892 - 1973
4. Mary Jane Doyle, 1924 - 2002
5. Arthur, 1882 - 1950
6. Catherine, 1888 - 1954

If you add photo requests for them I will post the photos to their individual memorials. Ace

S.N. Blatherwick
I have been looking at your memorial for Samuel Nelson Blatherwick. Do you know if, he had another spouse? I am related through the Westbrook family. I found a marriage record for S.N. Blatherwick to Smithy nee WESTBROOK for 19 Oct 1875 in Brazos Co., TX. I also see the memorial for the infant child that died in 1876 exactly nine months after my marriage record. It makes me think this is my line and that Smithie possible died in childbirth.I would appreciate any help you can offer. I am also related to Weeks, Curd and several other families in Brazos Co., TX. Thanks, Connie

RE: Marriage Record
I do not know where Warren and Annie married. My husband is their grandchild. I found birth info. on William Anthony Gilbert 1928-1987 (uncle) born in Harris county TX. I had a copy of that cert. but computer crashed and lost.

Marriage could have been in Tennessee, Alabama or Texas.

Suggest error correction
Dear Ms. Blatherwick,

On Find a Grave website in Nebo Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee, my great, great, great grandmother Seana Whitney (Brooks)Lipscomb died April 29, 1899. However, the Find a Grave website has the death written as April 29, 1829. The date of 1899 can be plainly seen on the photo of the headstone. Will you please let someone know? Thank you very much.

Sincerely, William W. Lipscomb II
