Thanks for adding the headstone photos of my 4th great grandparents at Fort Covington. What a wonderful surprise!

Hi Laurie,

Yes the Rousseau's are ancestors of mine. That would be great if you transfer them to me.
Thank you.

Jacki, Weymouth Massachusetts
Cook family at Dickinson
My family is from Brighton, Massachusetts. A couple somehow got to Moira and Dickinson, but I think by the Smith's. And was surprised to see some Cook's at Dickinson. The Cook's and the Smith's traveled together since early on, Brandywine, PA. I wasn't that successful after all fining family there, I think they were coming from Holliston at that point, but got a couple of ancestors at Moira. I found the old, old cemetery search online, before the virus that hit Find A Grave and Ancestry.com. I think it was from 1940 or so, and entered as much as I could for the families, to include myself. Which is a good thing, because that part of the freepages from Ancestry.com didn't come back after they cleared the virus.

RE: William Mills in Fort Covington cemetery
I just found your message today 2/15/15...and
yes of course I remember you!
Well my cousin Kenny Smallman did try to find
him..I gave him the information (site) that
was given in some records on-line. He found
the same problem that you mentioned. His
footing was unstable and the stones were vandalized as reported. I guess we will not know
for sure where he is or whether or not his
wife was buried with him. That's very kind
of you to help out. It's very appreciated.
susan.

RE: Florence McDonald Wheeler

I'm so very glad to help in any way I can for people to connect with their ancestors - in this computer age we should all be very capable to locating information that is online and available to us

The Red Bank Register is online and a VERY excellent source of information - granted there are often errors but the newspaper also provides information that might not be found elsewhere

I'm so very grateful to have the newspaper online so I can find my ancestors as well as help others to find theirs

Happy Holidays!!

Mike

RE: Spam Mail
Hi Laurie, I deleted the Spam msg., but recall seeing something in regards to "sunset pavement" if that helps you? And it was odd, because it started with my first name. Regards, Nadeen

Spam Mail
Hi Laurie, I rec'd a msg. from you in my Spam e-mail. Was it a legitimate e-mail or is this a virus? The only thing that we would have in common is the connection through Find A Grave. Had you sent something regarding a memorial? If so, the screen had not information. Regards, Nadeen

Hi there again. You have Claude lied to a duplicate father who was just put in this month. The original memorial is 76695302

Please adjust that! Thanks so much

No, that's great! I appreciate the information. I actually dropped ancestry a few years ago because it felt like I was reaching the point of diminishing returns. Maybe I'll have to go back, at least for a little while.

Thanks so much.

Hi there semi-relative! You're the only person who can link him to his parents. Maggie is in Find A Grave Memorial# 76695350. His father's memorial is: Find A Grave Memorial# 76695302

Claude is my 3rd cousin 2x removed. His GG grandfather Isaac Connely was my 5G grandfather. I'm in touch with some of his aunt's descendants on facebook.

Do you know, did Claude have any children besides Jean (who I have been totally unable to trace).

THank you!

By all means use the photos in any way you wish, with or without crediting me. I consider them "public domain".

Let me know if there's anything else down this way you're looking for.

Best regards,

Greg

Hi Laurie,

Just a friendly reminder...Have you had a chance to see burial records for Sarah DeLane Gero Born 4 Mar 1844 in Canada, Died 6 Dec 1914, Belmont, Franklin, NY. According to her obituary she should be interred in Morningside Cemetery with her spouse, Peter Gero & children James & Jennie. There may not be a marker for her but hope to learn that she is listed in the record book of burials.

Thanks, Laurie,

Judy Stress

RE: William D. Brennan Post
Go right ahead continuing your fight for William Brennan to be remembered...it's VERY appropriate, given the weekend. I am in Illinois....Minooka to be exact, and can only do what I can by calling people from afar. On another note, you made mention of not being able to get to Chateaugay...you made it sound too far away....if one were to mapquest it, they'd find themselves somewhere between Watertown and Syracuse.....WRONG!!! The Chateaugay I speak of is still in Franklin County, just west and a little north of Malone (about thirteen miles). Between the two points is the town of Burke, another place mentioned in my family's history.

RE: William Brennan
I'm not William's memorial keeper, but I am two transfers away from having seven generations linked together going down from him and up his wife's side of the family....someone in the middle of my "set" who has their messages turned off....would love to "force" findagrave to have them hear my case. The GAR post in Malone is named after William...you'd think that someone would come to a realization, but on the day of flag placement it's impossible to catch this one, unless you know better of his story. Thanks again for your help....I appreciate it.

RE: William Brennan
you can go ahead and add the picture to the memorial that I just made for Laura, BUT look closely....there is a "wife of" in between those carved texts....yes it does look like three names, but there's really only two. I've actually seen pictures of this stone before, as another cousin had been out to see the cemetery, but hasn't gone ahead with entry into findagrave. Truth is there WAS a second William, a William Jr. who along with sister Elizabeth Laura Brennan, went to go live with other family members, since their parents died so early on. Elizabeth Laura is my g-g-grandmother.

William Brennan
Thanks so much for supplying William Brennan's memorial with a photograph....it makes me notice that Laura's memorial needs to be created. I'd like to do that and would like your permission to "re-use" this new photo for her memorial, with your permission of course.
Thanks again, Scott Seymour
