Good Evening.
Hope you are staying warm and dry.
I sent him over to your care as you are more active than I am. If you need or want any of the other memorials there to keep with him just let me know.
The "Very Best" to you and all yours, Bud.

Hi there.
I added the info you sent and more census info. His parents are not in that cemetery though. Looks like it is a different relative's family there. If he is family or friend and you would like to care for his memorial I will be happy to transfer him and the other family to you.
Happy Researching, Bud

Thomas Bush

I believe he was one of four children of William & Minerva's who died either as infant's, or quite young children. Yes, by all means create a memorial if you know what cemetery he was buried at. I could not tell by the article clip you sent. I do not believe any of the young children were buried at Hyram Cemetery, but probably at the Chadwick family cemetery, not far from Hyram. The reason I don't think they were buried at Hyram is that the 1899 burial of Levi ("Lee") Bush was said to have been the first after he & wife Nancy donated the land to the cemetery.

If you find he is definitely buried at Hyram, please let me know for my family history records.

Mrs J G Chadwick
She was one of John and Margaret's daughters, but I haven't a clue which one. What was the name of the Chadwick publishing the newspaper? I would bet that she was his wife.

Thanks for the obituary. I've added the text to his memorial. Just out of curiosity, are you from the Jesse Bryan family in Coffee County?

Hi Rachel,

Rec. msg.
Russell Co. Chadwick's are a tangled web for me! Short answer is "Percy" was a King.
Did I understand the obit you sent for her was dated 1901? Strange because she is listed (Memorial# 21570394) with a 1903 YOD. She, and son Samuel share a marker. Her husband, Elias is buried in Texas, if memory serves. The Elias Chadwick at Shiloh is a different guy...
Wish you would post her obit to our Russell Co. Groups site, because Janice (and others) may not have it. Also, Janice has sorted the family out far better than I have, so I'd differ to her to answer any questions you may have. Ofcourse, there may be archived messages on that site, which may help you. If you have access to 'The History of Russell County, Alabama', or 'The Heritage of Russell County...', I believe they both contain info on the family... and possibly some pics of a few of them.

Happy to continue the conversation at the Russell County site...

Scrib & Barb Kelly
Julian Harris
My grandfather grew up a few houses away from the Harris's and he married Joel Chandler Harris's niece.
I agree that with his Pulitzer Prize Award he should be in the famous category.

John Mallory Land
Athalia ANtoinette (JOHNSON) BOYKIN, Mem. #54038014
Hi, Rachel - Whenever I come across a BOYKIN as I am doing research, I take notice because I am a BOYKIN direct descendant, though it is a number of generations removed. I will be glad to transfer this memorial to you, since it is your gg-grandmother, and I am confident that if you ask J. Lowery (Contributor #47089151) for a transfer of Athalia's husband James W. BOYKIN's memorial, you will get it because Jackie is very good about that. I volunteer in the Genealogy Department of the Columbus (GA) Public Library, so if there's anything I can look up for you, please feel free to let me know. Good luck in your research!
