It looks more like he is buried in space 2, the "monument" is more on the west easement than on grave 2 all picks were taken facing east

No problem, we all have days like that =) How are you related to this Porter family ? I have Porter's in my line, but haven't really tried linking this branch to mine yet.

RE: Photos of Bakers
You're welcome! I'm actually not related. I just work on a lot of people in Idaho's history.

Amanda :)

Green family novel
Jon, That is very interesting. The Dona part almost gave me chills. I would like to read the family history novel. What is the Title? It was too much to hope for a family Bible but maybe this is better. Dona

Opps mistake
I meant John Kernachan not Armstrong.

relationship to me 2nd cousin 1xremoved
Jon, Charles Alfred Green Senior was my 2nd cousin 1 x removed. Going backwards his father George R. Green, grandmother Florence Armstrong was my great grandmother, Frances Louise Armstrong's sister. Their parents being Thomas Armstrong and Sarah Kernachan. Both of Northern Ireland, came to Boston where they met and married. Florence was born there but Frances was the first born in Oquawka, Henderson, Ill. I learned this this yr. that Sarah's father was a John Armstrong from Carrigans, Donegal, Ireland. He stayed in Ireland but sent his children by his first wife to America. Sarah was 12 yrs. old, she had a sister named Mariah Caroline, who was two yrs. younger. John remarried and had another child, Eliza Jane whose branch carried down the information in a family Bible given by Sarah & Thomas to John. I'm not sure where you are on the tree, but I see Lena McConnel and assume she was a sister to someone on your tree. Let's talk. Dona

Joanne Carol Green cousin
Jon, Joanne Carol was my third cousin 1 time removed. I just discovered her and our relationship. I'm so sad that we lived so close and never met. We are related through the Green/Armstrong/Kernachan line. I have recently made some discoveries on the Kernachan line that I would like to share if you are so inclined. Do you have an Ancestry tree where I can give you a message on how to call me? I live in Puyallup. I'm going out to her grave today, then to the library for her obit. Dona

RE: Yanik
I did not notice any headstone nearby that matched her husbands name. On one side were Reynolds and the other was empty in terms of headstones. In fact, Louise's was almost entirely covered with dirt (serious gopher issue in this cemetery). If hadn't know the plot I was looking for I might have missed hers. Sorry.

McConnels in Monte Vista
Hi Jon -
I was catching up on my corrections this morning and it occured to me that I had never looked up the marriage for Estol and Luther in my Colorado Marriage index. Guess what! I found their marriage listed. They were married on 29 November 1911 in Rio Grande County, Colorado. Marriage license # 311.
I updated their memorials with this info.
If you want the source citation, let me know and I will send it to you.
Have a good one!

McConnels in Monte Vista
Hi Jon -
I don't know if Harold is buried near Luther and Estol, but the transcription that I have of the cemetery says that Harold Ray McConnel is the son of Mr and Mrs J.L. McConnel! That's probably a pretty good confirmation. :-)
I connected Harold to James Luther and Mary Estol.
Think I got all of your updates made. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Have a good one!

RE: Montie B. Gwinn
If you prefer to put just the reference of the book that's fine with me. I just wanted to at least send the information through. I've considered writing a summarized version but because people like to post information they find on here to ancestry I feel that the entire biography written is better to have. But how you have noted the source for the additional information that's great. Then others can just look up the information themselves.

Thanks for letting me know about the typo, I missed it.

Where is the Dam that was named for him?

Stanley B. Milner
Thanks for the information and the Obit. I updated his Find A Grave record for the DOD to 2 May 1906 and added Colonel to his record. I copied his Obit to his record in my tree.

How are you related to him? My connection is thru his son Clarence Elliott Milner and his wife Romola King.

We could not find a directory for that cemetery. So, we are trying to find out who might have the books for it so we can get that information. Hopefully we will have that for you soon. Sarah
