|Laurie Allison||Eliza Spurlock Ellison Payne|
We believe we have traced my husband's family line to Eliza (Elizabeth) Spurlock. His Grandfather was John Allison (Ellison) and we believe he was her son with her first husband. We are not certain of his name but believe it starts with an F. We suspect it may be Franklin but cannot find much information. We believe he died between 1862 when John was born and 1869. John is listed as James Franklin Payne's stepson in the 1880 census.

The memorial # you gave me for Elizabeth comes back as Serena Kelly.

Thanks - I'd transfer mine to you but I can't find a memorial I hold in that name. If you have the memorial #, please send me a request through the edit tab with your Find A Grave member # and I'll do the transfer.

The newer memorial is always deleted and I think your's is the newer. Or we can ask Find A Grave to combine them, but the memorial holder would still be the older one. If mine is the older memorial, I'll transfer mine to you once you delete your memorial.

I found a posting on RootsWeb that states her husband's name was John Sharpe. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of that, though. Here is the link for you to read the data and possibly contact the submitter for further information:
Best of luck to you in your research!

I seen that you had left a flower on my great grandmother Vivian Spurlock and was just wondering your connection to the Spurlock family?

Betty, thank you adding all those links. I just changed the d.d. on Nancy N. Young to unknown. I thought I had seen her on an 1840 census, but discovered I was wrong.

|Vera||RE: Jim Henry Mathis|
Betty, I am related by his marriage to Lula who was a second cousin, which makes you & I cousins. Now to try and answer the question... Children, Bedford,John & James delayed birth records lists his name as John Henry Mathis. His TN death record also lists his name as John. The 1900 has name listed as Henry, 1910 census just has initials, J. H., 1920 has Lula as head of household, and 1930 census he is again listed as head of household and as John. I believe you may be thinking of your calling his son Jim. What do you think? Vera

Betty... I have not found a Joseph Stafford grave located within this Cem.
The Stafford Family Cem listed here is located just off highway 85 in the Columbus Hill area. I am wondering if your Joseph is buried in the Stafford Cem across from Pharris Cem????

|Rodney Young||William Young|
Betty thank you for the site.
My Young family line comes from Thomas Cadet Young's son William. He and his sons moved to Ohio Company lands in the late 1700's. 3 of his sons stayed in Ohio, (Athens) and it is said William and his wife Mary (Polly) moved on west, and died in Sumner County, Tennessee. Some family records (passed down history) state he and wife Mary died in the Athens, Ohio area and are buried there.
We have been to visit Thomas grave, and it was a very moving visit.

Your welcome for the transfer. Actually, my husband grew up in Kentucky, but he did have ancestors that migrated from the Jackson County area to Kentucky, but we did not know that until recently! His job is what bought us to this area. Which county are you in?

|jkforrest||Winnie Walker Young|
I just started my history last yr. However, I have had the Winnie short novel since the 1970's.
My aunt took me to the cemetary off of Roaring River in Jackson County, TN years ago however, she is gone now and I'm not sure I could find my way back. It was quite overgrown even then.
I am supposed to be related some how but not sure. According to the book Winnie's son got the teapot and he and his family's line moved to MI around Detroit I believe. I was very happy to see the picture of the teapot. May I inquire as to how you were able to find that?
My grandmother's name was Winnie Stafford Poston and her father was an attorney in Gainesboro, TN.
If you have any information or can direct me, I would certainly appreciate it. Oh, BTW do you have a copy of the book or would you like one?
Thanks so much, Judy K.

No, I'm not related. And yes, you should include the maiden name as part of the title on the memorial - there is a space specifically for the maiden name. But, she should be listed under her married name since that is the name on the headstone. All memorials on Find A Grave should be listed under the last name shown on their headstone.
I transferred the memorial I created to you because you're related. Find A Grave abhors duplicates, and since the memorial you created was at a later date, that's the one that should be deleted. Hope this helps.

I've transferred care of her memorial to you. If you would, please link her children to this memorial since it pre-exists the creation date of the duplicate memorial you created. Thanks.

Hello Fellow Young. I see that we maybe Related. I am looking for Lost family members. After Momma Kitty, AKA Carrie Young passed away, we did not keep touch with the Young family. My dad is the last young on the Albert Gallitn Young line. I know Albert was born about 1826 but do not know when he passed away. If we find out we are not related, it's nice to know a follow Young!! Have a good evening!!
